I wasn’t really familiar with Child or the Reacher series. However, I saw the Amazon show and was intrigued. I was looking for a new author for those quick reads while on vacation or similar. So I found this one used and decided to give it a try. I enjoyed it. Quick. Easy. Interesting. Perfect for the situations I wanted it for.
I thought that The formula would finally be broken and The book women’s without Jack sleeping with one of the women we meet in the story. Alas, my hopes were dashed in the final pages. Child doesn’t write women well.
The first collaboration between Lee and Andrew, and I think that, once the torch has been fully passed, we will still have lots of the same two fisted action, as always.
This one? With no particular place to go, Reacher rolls into town, starts out helping some random guy, makes amazing leaps of deductive reasoning, and fights Russian ransomware hackers and punches literal Nazis.
Like every good hero should.
Always punch Nazis.
A fun romp, and it's nice to see that, with Andrew starting to take the reins, they are moving into more modern stories, but while Reacher remains his old Luddite self.

I didn’t notice a change in writing style at all. Great story!
Not his best but worth a read. Started off well next became a chore to read through all the twists in chasing down the server.

Frankly, one of the most boring and "phoned-in" of all the Jack Reacher books I've read so far (about half of the series). The plot is muddy and convoluted and uninteresting. The fight scenes are uninspired compared to all the conflicts Reacher has handled before. The chemistry between characters is as flat as tapwater. I don't know if it was the contribution of co-author Andrew Child that made the (poor) difference here, but it all comes down to a book you should give a pass to.
