Not on par with the older Jack Reacher novels but ok. Found reacher a bit cocky and not quite the same style as before and less depth to the story as seen in Lee Child's previous books.

Hey, it's another Jack Reacher by Lee Child. Either you like the format, or you don't. It doesn't pretend to be anything else than a great entertaining read. I like it. I would gladly read this over some (most!) of the so-called 'real' literature out there.

Marginally better than Blue Moon, but that wouldn’t be hard. Definite lowering in the quality of these stories. Decent enough action book but credibility is stretched to the limit - one example: the young hick working in the motel understood the Russian agents as he recognised words from hearing his grandparents speaking, they were from St. Petersburg. Oh, and Reacher knew Stalin’s birth date off the top of his head…..laughable.

Well, I think Jack Reacher is about done. With Lee Child handing over the reins to his brother, it just isn't the same Reacher I've loved over the years. This wasn't a bad book. It just wasn't up to the quality of writing and storytelling I've come to expect in the Reacher series. I couldn't put down most of the previous novels, but this one had a difficult time holding my interest. I generally read a Reacher novel in a day or two. This one took 10, and I had plenty of reading time on my hands. I'll probably read the next one, but I'm not going to miss it if I don't.
