This one came up on my recommendations for audible. It's not in my normal genre, and pretty sure it gave me some graphic nightmares, but it was a thrilling (see what I did there!? :) ) that constantly kept me guessing. I was terrified it would end like so many other thriller books do with a miserable ending to a miserable story but I was happy with the ending and rooting for the characters throughout.

I enjoyed the book, but it’s very gruesome. Lydia and Claire’s characters were well developed. I didn’t give 5 stars because I am tired of books with crooked cops.

Pretty Girls is an incredibly well-written and addictive thriller. Karin Slaughter’s writing style is sharp and immersive, and the plot is full of twists that keep you guessing. That said, the level of graphic violence and torture was not what I was expecting (maybe I should have read the preview before reading 😅) and was quite a bit darker than I prefer, making some parts tough to read. Still, the overall story was compelling and expertly crafted; definitely a page turner. I’d recommend it to fans of intense psychological thrillers, but be prepared if so, it’s def. not for the faint of heart.

Way more triggering in many areas than I expected. Really well written and overall good story, but I probably would not have read this knowing all the triggering topics.
