Blech. Not bad, just... excessive. Like, all the bad kinds of things happening all the time. I get it, there is a following for this stuff, but it just isn’t me. I love mystery and suspense and all that, but hearing in detail about super graphic abuse just isn’t needed.

This book is intense. But I loved it. The only reason it's not a full 5 stars from me is because some of the content is so twisted. But I 100% will be telling everyone that will listen to read it.

Warning : I feel like you do have to be in the right mindset to read this

I'm not a huge reader of thrillers, probably because I am a bit of a Pollyanna. That being said, I read this thriller because I'm a sucker for sister stories.

I really enjoyed reading this, so much so that I stayed up past my bedtime, which is quite daring when one has a human, 11 month old alarm clock. The main characters, sisters Claire and Lydia, were believable and well developed, and unlike a lot of other thrillers, capable of handling their own shit without the help of men.

Kudos for creating such strong female characters - this was a welcome change from the other "must read" thriller I felt quite "meh" about, The Girl on the Train.
