Once you get past the dark, gruesome, and utterly violent scenes throughout the book, the mystery unfolds with many twists that are really interesting and well written (but maybe not for a second read). I enjoyed most of the characters in the book and enjoyed reading from multiple perspectives, especially the dad’s. I would recommend, with caution if you’re easily queazy…… Im going to need a palette cleanser.

It’s really hard to give this book a rating because I want to give it four stars for characters and twists but I also want to give it zero stars for the extremely graphic sexual violence. This book was so hard to get through because violence against women was not only depicted graphically (seriously the most horrible I’ve ever read) but also was made central to the plot.
All I can say is “wow.” May be scarred for life after reading this one
So so gory and horrifying, but Karin’s style really keeps me locked in. The pace at which she reveals information, shows and not tells, and leads up to a final action sequence is really unmatched.
