Here I am, rendered speechless by another Kristin Hannah book. I had chills the whole time, I was crying the whole time, and I was frantically googling a time in history, which I’ve never thought twice about, the whole time. It takes a powerful writer to write a book where even though I predicted the ending, I was enthralled the whole time to see how she executed it, and it STILL destroyed me. Just breathtaking.

I thought this was going to be a lot more war based, but it focusing primarily on the aftermath of Vietnam was more impactful. I really enjoyed this book. I hated Frankie sometimes, but it all worked out even though it didn’t seem like it would. She truly hit rock bottom, which we don’t always see represented. The twist at the end made me SOB!
