DNF at 46%. Would give other books by this author a try, it just wasn't a fit for what I was looking for.

liked it more than I thought I would

For some reason this book kept popping up and I kept dismissing it. I do challenges and this came up as an option so I went for it! It’s a little slow in places but I absolutely adored Dean! Jonas took a little work but he was nowhere near the man he thought he was, which is a good thing! They fit so well together - like puzzle pieces.

This is my second time reading this, as I recently read Jude and Asa's book again and also want to read Pip and Olivier's book next, so this was the perfect time to reread this.

It's a sweet romance. I like both main characters and Jonas's daughter. My only real complaint is that I wish Dean had more POV chapters - there's maybe 5 half-chapters in his POV? At that point just make the whole thing a 1 person POV book and just have it be from Jonas's side of things.

2.5 stars rounded up.
This loses points because of how much I hated Pip and the fact that Jonas didn't see his behaviour at work to be problematic. I'm sad that Pip is lead in book 2.

3.5 stars. The first half was lovely, but the story went off the rails a bit in the second half, with Jonas' behaviour being quite ridiculous. I also would have liked to have a clearer image of Dean. He felt a bit too much like a manic pixie dream boy to be real. The fact that almost the entire book was from Jonas' POV didn't help. Still, even if it wasn't my favourite by Lily, I did enjoy the book, not in the least because of all of the familiar faces. There's also lots of sequel potential here and I look forward to them, especially in the case of Olivier.

This book was a pleasant surprise. Dean is so charismatic and you instantly love him. Such a different side to how he comes across in previous books. I was enthralled by this story and couldn't put it down. I have to give it 5 stars because it gave me a warm feeling when I read it and I didn't want it to end which is always when I know the book hooked me. I challenge anyone not to fall in love with Dean.

This book was cute. It was a lighter read with just a tiny bit of angst. Jonas and Dean have both been infatuated with one another for a long time but neither felt like they were worthy of the other. Dean is down on himself thinking isn't smart enough for someone like Jonas and Jonas is convinced he's too uptight and proper for such a free spirit like Dean. The reality is Dean needs Jonas's structure to feel safe and Jonas needs Dean's carefree attitude to learn to not take life so seriously and enjoy it.
Henry Ashworth-Robinson and Ruby Tuesday really stole the show though.

I enjoyed this newest read from Lily. It has all the snark and humour that we need, with some oh moments and an age-gap romance!

Jonas thinks he is too old and not enough for Dean and what do you know Dean thinks he is not old enough or brainy enough for Jonas.

Communication definitely needed between these two but they get there in the end.

We need more PIP!!
