4⭐️ I LOVE the idea of a bookstore romance and I LOVE the idea of a farm/ranch romance someone decided to book both together, and the results….I smiled SO hard while reading this. Yes, there is sex in this book but it still has a comfy cozy feel to it. I also love the conversation of medical phobia and the fear of a specific chronic or terminal illness (the reason why I won’t read a lot of books). This was gorgeous. I love a romance with some substance to it. This book was great. I am glad I read it and I’m definitely going to be continuing the series. Only thing I would change is to make the ending a bit slower just to match pace with the book and let Finn bottom 🤣🤣

This was a solid, no-drama romance. Two nice people falling in love and having sexy times.

DNF

I just could not get past chapter 3. It was a fairly normal set up and we knew they would end up together. And I have loved others by this author and I like series that are all set in one place with different people. The thing that kept bugging me is Harrison assumed Finn was gay cause he had no kids. And inferred that Harrison had no kids for that reason. It felt like she was saying gay people can't have kids. Maybe I was just in the wrong mood for this. But I did not like it and DNF.

I loved this first book that provides the setup for the Vino and Veritas world. If you’re looking for a lot of angst, this might not be the book for you, but if you’re looking for a great book with some sexy times than look no further. When we meet Harrison, I wasn’t sure what to think. He’s got this whole buttoned up and afraid to get his loafers dirty thing happening. He pitches in to wrangle some chickens and the whole plot is set in motion. Our resident, sexy chicken farmer is Finn. He’s a Vermonter born and bred. He’s sure that Harrison’s a bad bet, but that doesn’t stop the flirting or the attraction they both seem to feel. Filled with adorable side characters and fun animals, this is a feel good read that just makes you smile and remember when grown ups actually communicated like adults. Oh, and if I didn’t already love ducks, I surely would now.

not bad!

Took me a long while to enjoy this book.
I was only reading to get to book #3 - btw they are in the same fictional space but really are stand alones - and I think that might have clouded my enjoyment at first.... I was anxious to get to #3 that 1 and 2 were just blips.

I enjoyed the fictional space. I liked the characters and support characters. I just did not feel the 'spark' on the 2 lead romantic people. Like I said... prolly me and not them.
