This is the point in the series where it starts to get obvious that it was written by a white woman in the 90s. It's just a bummer that Mia has not really matured through these books and is still constantly convinced Michael is going to break up with her. This is also the point where it just becomes creepy that Mia is 14 and dating an 18 year old. Sorry, Michael is a fine character, I just...am creeped out by that dynamic and how the author constantly emphasizes Mia's relative immaturity to Michael. Yeah, it's because she's an actual child and he's a college student.
