more boring than the first.
a book about magic and witches, and yet there’s way less magic doing. the first book did an amazing job getting you excited about spell work. this one…it feels almost like magic was forgotten about.
i was really hopeful, i was super excited about a rival house competing against them, but that was a let down.
the characters were bland. this book would be 100 pages shorter if they just…communicated. crazy, right? i feel like no one bonded in this book, and relationships seemed forced and silly.
i will admit, the twist villain in this story caught me by surprise!
i love scarlett, but vivi is still bleh.
there’s really no need to read this book. the ravens is great all by itself and i think the monarchs ruins the atmosphere.

This book was good even if it was a little slow. I enjoyed the plot as a hole but I felt there was inserted angst that just didn’t need to be there. It seems like a YA book that just didn’t want to deal with parents. All of the characters seem way younger than most people in their twenties I know. However, it still had a solid enjoyment factor.

Ben scritto, scorre senza intoppi, trama ben congeniata, personaggi interesanti. Anche in questo caso, come nel primo libro della saga, non riesco però a concepire come si possa ambientare un libro in un campus universitario in pieno semestre studentesco e non accennare – neppure di sfuggita – che i protagonisti frequentano delle lezioni.Non c'è una singola scena ambientata in un'aula, non ci sono riferimenti a corsi appena seguiti, non c'è "scuola", i protagonisti fanno tutto fuorchè studiare. Un pò inverosimile, questa mancanza rovina l'ambientazione.

Well written, flows smoothly, well thought out plot, interesting characters. Also in this case, as in the first book of the saga, however, I cannot conceive how a book can be set on a university campus in the middle of a student semester and not mention – not even in passing – that the protagonists attend classes. There is no a single scene set in a classroom, there are no references to courses just followed, there is no "school", the caracthers do everything but study. A little far-fetched, this lack spoils the setting.
