I loved the language in this book. It was very creative and descriptive, and it worked really well to illustrate the scenes. I also love the ways the author used language to show how the children understood the events in the book. There were some scenes that were uncomfortable to read, but they were very intentional and important to the book. The author handled them very responsibly and wrote them really well.
