It ends with us was so gut wrenching and intense that it was kind of nice to have a more mellow read. Parts of me wanted it to be more intense but the first book wrecked me for days
I was so excited for this book and to see if my predictions were correct about Lily and Atlas. Everything I thought would happen did which was good and bad. I wish there were more twists in the story because I kept waiting for something to happen. I am happy with the ending and the story is very cute so I give it 4 stars for the lack of surprise.

I didnt find any interest in the story, it was plane and cheesy. The characters hadn’t been together since they were teenagers, however the dynamic seems the same, they act as they are they same people and there has simply been some changes in their lives, no real development within. I find it unrealistic.

The second book of the sequel, this novel is predictably slower paced. It picks up straight after where the first book ends.
It’s accurate in the sense that a jealous, aggressive ex won’t take a woman dating on the chin. But there were a few things I didn’t like. All the domino’s fall too neatly for Lily. Riley kind of sees some sense and his family supports her, which in real life scenarios is actually quite rare. It’s more likely that they wouldn’t want her to ruin his promising and expensive career.
I also didn’t get Atlas’ speech at the end. You waited for this woman for years, you are madly in love with her, and when you finally get your girl, you talk about your 50/50 chance of divorcing her??? Come on dude!
Although there were things I didn’t enjoy, I still enjoyed the overall storytelling. But not as much as the first in the sequel.

Spoilers for it ends with us!
In this sequel to it ends with us, we follow Atlas and Lily as they reconnect and try to build a life together whilst working through all the trauma in their pasts.
I had no intention of reading this but I found a copy in a charity shop so thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did. This was such a sweet and charming romance - I love Atlas and Lily so much and they deserve to finally have a chance at being happy. Honestly Atlas might be one of my favourite love interests I've read about - he is just so caring and honest and understanding.
I thought that the aftermath of Lily and Ryle's divorce and the custody struggles were handled really well and was pretty realistic too. Lily has become so strong and it was great to see her finally set some much needed boundaries. I also loved the edition of Josh in this book, Atlas's little brother. The scenes they had together and the connection Atlas forged with him was so heartwarming. A certain scene involving a family tree made me tear up...
Definitely recommend if you enjoyed the first book, it's a really good sequel and I feel like it wraps up everything perfectly

It liked the first book better bc there was more ‘action’. But I’m really happy atlas and lily ended up together.
