Phoebe and Declan begin a physical relationship that leads to them both revealing the attraction and love that’s developed over the past six years of their acquaintance. I didn’t read the first books in this series, so I think some background was provided in the earlier books. I still found Declan’s interactions with his family especially his brother  disjointed. I appreciate the family they’ve created as a couple and really liked Declan for his thoughtfulness and quiet way of noticing others.

I finished Educated ten days ago now, and I am finally ready to blab about how great it is. Thank you to Nellie for the ARC (one of my first)!

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 - but for the sake of Goodreads, we're rounding on up. Plus, Nellie's worth it.

Thank you Nellie for an ARC bc I am endlessly in love with these two.

This is, without a doubt, my fav book by Nellie so far. After all the teasing, she fucking DELIVERED.

So to no one's surprise, I was immediately invested! Phoebe sharing her proposal with Dec? Then everything that ensued? AAAHHH! *minor spoiler alert* There may have been a contract involved, some miscommunication that gets addressed, and a very special survey that Dec filled out the most adorably. So yeah, it was a good time. 😏 But fun aside, I loved that this gave them a safe space to overcome their insecurities and explore what they wanted with each other. And the way the first "I love you" came out felt so true to them, tumbling out bc it couldn't be contained any longer. And I loved being with them as they worked through that new phase of their relationship bc where they ended up was PERFECTION.

I do have to scream about Declan for a sec bc he was just a dream! I loved how much he loved Phoebe. How gentle and considerate he was with her. But also just being that friend who encouraged her to speak up for what she wanted. And the growth this inspired in Phoebe! Seeing her set boundaries and demand the recognition she deserved was so satisfying! And Phoebe returning the favor by taking out the trash that was his family? 👏👏👏 Bc *somebody* had to do it and I loved that our sunshiney gal went to bat for our guy.

AND THE B-PLOT Y'ALL! 🫠 Let's just say there's more than one HEA in this book and we get to revisit some past ones too. 😉

CN: open-door romance, past death of a parent, mentions of Vietnam War, difficult parent/child relationship

There were some parts of this that I loved but a lot of it really dragged. I related to Phoebe in a lot of ways but also there were a lot of things that I really didn’t connect with and a lot of the problems seemed very low stake to me.

I am a Nellie Wilson stan!

These books are exactly what I like - normal people, doing normal things and falling in love.

To paraphrase 10 Things I Hate About You:

I (really) like Curated, but I love Educated.

Pheobe and Dec were great characters and I’m here for the bi rep.

I found some of the writing repetitive, but that’s what happens with a will they/won’t they so I’m rounding this up from the 4.5 I give it.
