The only reason this isn’t a 1 star review from is simply because of all the cameos the Assassin players make in it. Not a shocker, but my main complaint for Aleo’s books are that she literally wastes too much time. We don’t need an extra 100 pages. I enjoy a lengthy book, but not when it’s wasteful. In a story you don’t need every single darn day written about to get your point across.

All the cliche tropes are in this very story. Hockey god college dude that’s so young and already made captain. Simply waiting to be drafted to the NHL. Also he’s a complete ladies man and women are at his beck and call. *yawn*. The cliche doesn’t bother me at all. All of them are fine except for the whole “man whore” reformed. Nothing makes me roll my eyes more. Ironically the other stores by Aleo have some of that. For some reason this irked me more. I think it’s because after 2 week they were supposedly in love. The only reason I didn’t stop reading when I found that out was because I was nearly half way through. Jude isn’t an amazing lead. He’s just a boring younger version of Aleo’s original version. Also once you read about the male leads of the Assassin’s series you can’t enjoy a 20 year old dude over that.

We meet Claire in book 6 of the Assassin’s series. She’s honestly a brat, but she does have a good reason for being this way. In this book she’s drastically different and that makes me happy. Love and a family changed her for the better. I generally like Aleo’s leading women, but Claire just didn’t stand out. Also she lied to two very important people. You’d really think she learn after the first time she gets caught, but apparently not.

Honestly, the only redeeming quality of this is the Assassin’s series characters coming back in this story. Nothing makes me happier to see my hockey wives. Also Philips last POV is the best. That’s probably what really made me push this to 2 stars. I don’t think I’d recommend this series to anyone. I didn’t like this story much, but am I going to read the other books in this series? The answer is yes. I’m holding out for some better plots.

Too unrealistic for me, kind of like a bad Wattpad book

Amazing book.
Awesome writing style.
Quite some drama
Good plot

Didn't like the whole I'm the guy so I'm driving attitude. Not cool. 21st century hello.
Also, there were quite some repetitions and it was pretty corny at times.
And then...the whole Facebook thing was a bit much. Posting videos of yourself in a bad state? Never a good idea. She could have just sent them to him privately but nope... now it's all out there

Other than that, I loved this book. It was fun but also sad. It's about family and being yourself, making it in the world.
It's also about insta love and insta chemistry, which I liked. At times it was a bit over the top, sure, but in a way that was endearing.

The minor characters were a blast. I fell a bit in love with Jayden but then I found out that his girl is a bit bitchy. Plus, he seems to be all for forgiveness. And I'm not so I'll just skip that and move on.

I have a new favorite author, it seems, anyways!!

The story of choreographer / burlesque dancer Claire and hockey star Jude was really sweet; ultra soppy really with a big dose of instalove but Toni Aleo pulled it off really well. This is my first book by this author but now I plan to read everything. I found the story well written and engaging. The high romance worked because I genuinely believed in the characters.

There was a good level of angst in the book, not all of it quite believable. Claire keeps her burlesque dancing a secret which slightly perplexed me. Maybe it's just me, but burlesque is a pretty acceptable dance form to me. I wouldn't go out with someone who wasn't ok with it. They would just feel a bit narrow minded to me. And although i might keep it on the lowdown from college people I wouldn't keep it from someone i loved. So that storyline just annoyed me. I just found myself shouting 'tell him already!' In my head.

I also thought the bit about Jude thinking she was hot, enjoying what she wore and how she danced but then having a problem with other guys looking at her was a bit 1980's. I think we've moved on from that. I just found it annoying. I have no place for it. If you don't want guys thinking your girl is smokin hot then dude, don't go out with someone smokin hot. D'uh!!

Other than that I loved the whole thing. A bit overly sweet but I was just in the mood for it. Jude can be my book boyfriend anytime and I thought Claire was very aspirational and strong. A good read!

Boarded by Love is the first book in the Bellevue Bullies Series. I really enjoyed Boarded by Love and can't wait to continue with the series. I loved Claire and Jude.

Really enjoyed this spin off from the Assassins series which is book 1 in a new series featuring the Sinclair brothers. It’s nice to see Claire as the focus of her own book while still getting some time with favorite Assassins characters. We also move the Assassins universe along with Reese and Phillip’s wedding and info on more pregnancies.

Enjoyable and emotion filled book. Strongly recommend.

I loved this book and the tie in the Nashville Assassins. I felt like the younger vibe and angst was a little much, sometimes it felt really wordy. But, that will not stop me for looking to read the next in the series as soon as possible. Loved Hey Jude.

This is my first Aleo book. I have heard so many great things about her other series, I thought I would give this author a try. I love sports romances, and have no aversion to the the NA genre. This story was ok. I didn't love it. I didn't hate it. I would probably give another one of her books a try.

I liked the concept of this girl, who was pulled out of her hellish life by her uncle, and finally knew what it was like to be loved and taken care of, meeting and winning the heart of a notorious man-whore. I have no problem with tropes. I love tropes. I think my problem was somewhat with the writing. There were times, when I felt Aleo was trying too hard to make me feel something, and some ideas were repeated so many times.

Again, I did not hate this book. I was entertained, and I liked the characters and the whole hockey family thing.
