Holy amazeballs Batman!!
This book was awesome, seriously SO good!
Everyone who has read this series knows Silas hasn't always been such a great guy, so I was curious how this author was going to get me on board for a HEA with him. I shouldn't have worried, because not only did she get me on board, she made me fall in love with Silas...
Did he cheat on his wife, yes, but he had a pretty good reason IMO. Being undercover for the CIA he did a lot of things to keep the people he cared about safe. I'm sure some will say that's just an excuse, and there isn't ever a reason to cheat. Normally I would be first in line with that thought, but the author does such a good job in this book of making Silas a hero worthy of a HEA, that his past didn't bother me for a second!
The relationship that forms between him and Sawyer, was just so sweet, sexy, and frigging HOT! Also, for anyone wondering, he had more of a friendship with Sawyer's mother, then a relationship. It's not even an issue with anyone in the book, and I never felt any off feelings about the situation.
I simply LOVED this whole stinking book! It made me cry, and smile...GO READ THIS BOOK! ;)

Love love love!!!
Best in this series! Silas was a man who help is family and that was just the blood ones. The MC is his whole life. Sawyer just adds to it and gives him what has been missing. Her life is been wronged and Silas makes it right!

I skipped the rest of the series as I don't feel that my blood pressure can cope with the irritation that builds... decided to read this as the blurb appealed to me.
The thing is... I didn't hate it. I didn't like it. It was... OK... and that, in itself, is a damning recommendation. I hated Sebastian( 19/02/21 OK, I didn't hate Sebastian... he was far more mature than the other two ), Shiloh & Sam in this. All of them spoiled brats. Especially Shiloh & Sam.
I find it increasingly sad that the 'club whores' ( not my words ) are still prevalent. Where do they retire their whore-y selves to when they are no longer enough of 'sweet-butt' to fuck? And the fight club fight? OMG. (19/02/21 Yeah, still hate that part... find it a little sad and pathetic tbh... )
What happened to the fourth guard?
( OK - so I did re-read it. Now know what happened to the 4th guard!! And, I have to say still really dislike Sam & especially Shiloh. They were both arseholes to Sawyer. )
Lynn seems to have sooo many covers... I know in one book ( Ghost's? ) it was mentioned that he reinvented himself over and over again... but how old is he?? He has been around forever.
I hated aspects of Silas' character - especially him 'taking' his first wife... irrespective of anything... he 'seduced' her with the direct intention of having sex with her. Mmm, that doesn't sit well within my moral compass. And he had to have a 'club wife' too? Um... OK... cos that makes total sense.
I think it is because there is such potential that I am perpetually disappointed by LLV's books. Obviously, I am completely in the minority according to the amount she has written and other reviews. But... errors are rarely forgivable unless it hasn't gone through proof-reading and an editing process.
Sighs.
I really didn't like Sawyer's parents - they didn't seem very caring... yeah, it was hard for them... but she was in prison, getting assaulted with no means to get away. The mother, especially, was just too priggish. Dallas was a dick. But... I have to say I didn't dislike Silas nearly as much as I had remembered... although still don't agree with what happened with Leslie... but that is just me!!
21/02/2 Mmm, still feel as strongly about her parents and Dallas as I did... patently, they didn't do everything they could do to help Sawyer. They still had a property on the water... and Dallas had the house... if they really cared, if they really believed that she didn't deserve to be in prison... they should've done everything that they could to help... they didn't. And what Dallas said to her? Unforgivable.

It was really good, the only thing that slightly bothered me was the age gap but what can I say, love is love
I’ve really enjoyed this entire series but this one is probably my favorite!
