I've been excited to read the next book in this series; the first was a little mix of historical and vampire romance with some fantasy thrown in and really hooked me on this storyline.
I appreciate the map at the beginning of the book. The prologue starts us in the past with a look at Evangeline and Lycan, the Werewolf King. They have some serious chemistry and a star-crossed lovers' vibe. But they also seem to have a torrid past and a hidden secret.
Dominic, the general of the Vampire territory. This first chapter picks up where we left off with Sienna. Her life has changed drastically until now, and I can't wait to see where this fantasy goes. This book is much more political than the last, with moves, countermoves, planning, and desperate hopes.
Sienna's heritage is still as baffling as before, but new supernatural talents begin to arise. I wonder what paranormal she is and fully what her abilities are. This book almost gives me "Princess Bride" vibes. I know old movie references, but it has the theme of action/adventure, star-crossed lovers, and unrequited love littered thru the storyline. We get future riddles to work out regarding Sienna's ability.
This book takes a turn as things progress; we get a rollercoaster of political and social predicaments. Sienna is different in the last half of this book, becoming more heroic and less weighed down by her feelings and self-imposed responsibilities. Hard truths are delivered, and even with all the plotting, unexpected actions lead this toward something. The book ends with Dominic and Sienna back to being acquaintances rather than lovers. I'm glad the author answered questions about why the Werewolf Queen is essential to the storyline, but this book wasn't as good as the first. Still interested to see what happens next and praying for more info about Sienna and Dominic working out back to lovers, as that was more intriguing than political plotting.

Mieux que le 1 mais il manque toujours un petit truc

Well Shannon has done it again. Grabs my attention right from the start, holds it throughout the book then leaves me at a cliffhanger that has me worried, scared and sad. But it was totally worth it. If you have not read the first book in this series yet, Taken by Fate then please do so now before you read any spoilers.
Hunted by Fate stays true to it's name as Sienna, Bee and Will are being hunted by Edmund and his party. They just need to make it to the wolf territory before they can catch up. But Prince William is slowly slipping away after being poisoned by bloodworms. And somehow someway, when Sienna feeds Will some of her blood to heal him it does more than that. It slowly CURES him. She is powerful and magical but she doesn't know how much just yet.
The constant push and pull between Sienna and Dom was rough to read. Like as a reader we see what they are going through emotionally and sometimes maybe it's just me but I wanna smack them out of it. Kind of like when Sienna smacked Bee out of it to wake up. They love each other deep down but are both at an impasse and the tension is killing me. But I have a feeling when they finally embrace it, it's going to be epic.
Like I said in the beginning Hunted by Fate captivated my attention right from the start. If you loved the first book you surely are going to love this one as well. I definitely love this one way more. Just the not knowing what was going to happen next, to the can & will they escape. Will Edmund the Vile be dethroned? Even though the anticipation was killing me when I couldn't read it, it was well worth it. But I need Book 3 pronto please. Thank you, Shannon Mayer for an ARC copy of Hunted by Fate. I greatly appreciate it and I'm falling in love with these characters deeply. But may still be mad about that one death......IYKYK

Ohh, things are getting interesting now! Things are not quite what they seem to be and Sienna is falling hard for the General. These facts lead to a compelling and intriguing story that O just couldn't switch off.
Can't wait to see how things go with the next book, such a tangled web!

Continuing in this series, it has more depth than the blurbs give it credit for, with decent world building and characters that give enough to draw you in. Angst and sexual tension are also pretty good. Will definitely read the next book

I love anything by Shannon but this series is quickly becoming my favorite. With strong characters and amazing storytelling this will be a series that stays with you! Go grab the first two books today and enjoy the ride!
I enjoyed this sequel so much!
The story starts out with an unexpected twist, that I thought would develop one way but ended up being better than expected.
The reader sees Sienna become more aware of her power and push it to the limits. She embraces the relationships around her and we get to see more character development from the side characters. I loved seeing her perspective shift throughout the book as she learns more about the alpha territories. Dominic is still the hardened general, but a softer side does start to make an appearance.
There is a cliffhanger at the end that has me eager for the next book!
This book does contain fantasy violence, adult language and sexual content.
Thank you Shannon Mayer for the Audible Audiobook! The thoughts expressed in this review are my own.
