This second part of this series just keeps getting better. Continues multiple POVs, weaving their stories together through this large political web. Doesn’t skip out on character growth. Really impressed with the second half of this series.

Cicero summed this book up perfectly “During war, the laws are silent” Wowza! This is by far the darkest book of the series. It took me a little longer to get into this book so if this is you, don’t give up, you’ll miss out on a fantastic read. Pierce Brown does not disappoint. It’s insane, violent, and ruthless. In the end, this book devastated me. But… I made it through. I survived. And I am so excited for Light Bringer.

Definitely a step up from Iron Gold in action and intrigue. The story is building and unravelling more, and I appreciated that we got more varied types of action. I am so strapped in for book 6.

I am sad that we did not get more time with Fig; she was truly the only funny character we have met in a while.
