Clueless puckboys
Puckboys series book5
By Eden Finley & Saxon James
4.5 Stars, round at 5.
Contains: Hockey player, team physiotherapist, Clueless, naive character, not so secret crush, rambling idiot, stupid superstition, and a patient caring lover.
Omg. These authors strike again. How do they make adorable, naive, and clueless character so dang cute and lovable?
I don't even know how to review this book.
Lovable Yes.
Cuteness yes.
Hot h3ll yes.
Tension builds, chemistry intensified between them. They're getting closer.
Will they take the plunge or not? Will they put the team's future at risk, or will they make it grow?
Getting all the tension, all the diving, and then ... all the incertainty flowing in to try to scramble their fondation, the uncertainty to try to disrupt their relation, but at least one of them is patient and keeps the love alive.
Under all the aspects of cuteness, love, and friendship, I think the uncertainty about their relationship on Quinn's part is the thing I disliked most. I found his reaction extremely immature. I know... these authors always have their immature characters, and I love them for it, but I found this one more childish than immature.
Overall, it was good. I liked it a lot. I would have liked more public revelations, I love that kind of statement. Like at the press or after a game or something. But the only declaration was a quick kiss to the team without too many hiccups. Huh. Come on, give me more than that!
Ps : Yes, it took me 6 days to read it thanks to covid hitting our home. I hope this doesn't undermine my review.
** This is my honest opinion. **

Vance and Quinn's story was so cute! I don't think anything could have been cuter than Quinn's blushy awkwardness around Vance in the beginning, and the lengths he went to avoid being obvious about his crush were so silly and sweet. When I found out Vance had a thing for Quinn too it felt like kismet, and they surprised me by doing the smart thing and communicating openly instead of sneaking around to hide their obvious conflict of interest. Most of their story revolved around their chosen careers, so it would have been impossible to hide for long, and not having that hanging over their heads made it easier to get lost in the little sweet moments while Vance was helping Quinn heal up. Their chemistry was fantastic, and they settled into a relationship so naturally over the course of the story. I honestly felt like the hockey storyline was what kept me the most tense as I waited to see if Quinn's team would pull out a Cup win. Quinn really struggled to find a way to get out of his own head during games, and I'm glad he had Vance to keep him grounded. I'll admit I was a little confused by Quinn's side-quest to find something he wanted to do outside of hockey and how it ended, but I think it was supposed to be a romantic gesture? Not my favorite, but I really liked seeing where Quinn and Vance ended up throughout the rest of the story, from meeting each other's friends to coming out to the team and playing some dang good hockey.

just like "Shameless Puckboy" this book had the forbidden/ workplace romance between a player (QUINN) and a staff member (VANCE) but unlike the other book, this one mainly focused on a more wholesome and cute aspect. they didn't immediately fall into bed with each other and you could really feel the resistance on them actually sleeping together.
the characters in this book were so cute and loveable and i really did enjoy reading this kind of workplace romance. they truely got to know each other and spend time together and all though i didn't exactly feel connected to the characters, i still enjoyed reading about them spending time together. you could truely feel the affection and love they felt for each other with the way they just talked and acted around the other. i also loved how healthy their relationship was and the way they stood by one another through everything and never once had a tense moment.

Ayri and Quinn were ok. This was one of the higher rated books in the series for me.
But here's my problem.
This is book 5, I think. I am so confused about who is who anymore. They are all pretty much the same. One is more mature and level-headed, one is more immature. There is low angst and the spice is meh. There were like, 3 sex scenes. And they were just ok.
I know there are more books in this world and I'm pretty sure there are crossover series but I'm done. There's nothing really wrong with these books, but they were all 2-3 stars for me. There was nothing really great about them either.
The audio was ok. Better than reading it, probably. But I won't relisten.

This series just gets better with every book . This time it’s Vance and Quinn’s turn to find love along with the help from the rest of the Queer Collective.
