WHAT A FREAKING DELIGHT. As someone who is a big fan of Clayborn's 'Chance of a Lifetime' series, but has been underwhelmed by her last two books, I am so, so happy Georgie, All Along is back up to the level I know KC is capable of. Georgie is untethered, but doing her best and just trying to figure it out. Sometimes you just want to shake her and help her along, but the progression is so nice and you really see how Georgie comes into her own. And LEVI! Perfect example of a hero who can be grumbly without also being a total dick. I love them together and I really love their connection and their CONNECTIONS, heh.
I hope Clayborn can still on this level for her next novel and I'm glad I didn't give up on her after two (for me) misses!

I was not familiar with Kate Clayborn's previous works so I was not sure what to expect. There is a scene early on in the book that made me howl with laughter. To top it off there was a second scene a further bit in that was also quite funny.
This is a book about Georgie who is working to reinvent herself. Growing up with her best friend, Bel, she was always in the shadows even though she didn't realize it at the time. Then she is in the shadows of her big personality bosses in LA. When her boss unexpectedly quits her job which leaves Georgie also jobless, she decides to move back home since Bel is ready to have a baby.
Upon returning to her hometown, Georgie discovers a journal of sorts that her teenage self wrote. It was all about her hopes and dreams for her high school years. Looking back, Georgie realizes that the two friends did not do any of the things they had planned. Georgie starts a journey to experience these things and in the meantime, discovers her self as an adult.
This was a fun quick read with some meat but not too much.

Beautifully detailed and full of earnest, honest conversation. Nothing felt contrived. The stumbling moments were necessary and beautiful. This was really lovely.
If I cry, it gets five!
This one got me. It isn’t your every day, run-of-the-mill romance. This novel was bursting with heart and wisdom. So many lovable characters (Georgie’s parents! Hank!) and a real pulse on the fears we all face.
This story is quiet in it’s power. It’s about making space in your life for what you want to be and allowing people to love you through the mess. The friendships are just beautiful and the details were woven expertly throughout the narrative. You could feel the characters growing in real, authentic ways and it was so special to see them becoming the best versions of themselves.
Even as I was crying, I knew it because I was so uplifted and encouraged. What a beautiful exploration of resiliency and identify, in building the life you want and deserve.

This is a DNF for me. I only made it 65 pages but it’s so wordy, so boring, and it’s not catching my attention at all.
Very cute, quick read. It was less soul-searching than I expected but good nonetheless. I loved the characters and found myself smiling as I read. I could see this as a feel-good Netflix romcom.
