I was interested enough by the concept, and then interested to see where it went, but the ending didn’t necessarily make the book feel worth it. The mystery was well developed but the end almost felt like Dan being Gossip Girl. Forced, like the writer really wanted it to be out of left field and unpredictable. So much so that it felt like a letdown. It was still enjoyable but the ending really reduced the star rating for me.

….We spend an average of 33 years of our lives asleep. What happens though when we sleep and what are we capable of whilst asleep…

This is an interesting premise for a thriller and different from any I’ve read before. I didn’t see all the twists coming either which is always good when reading a mystery thriller. Some bits did feel a little convenient though and I think it could have been a little faster paced. Having said that I finished this a few days ago and the story is still floating round my head and I definitely enjoyed my time with the story.
Will definitely check out any future books by Matthew Blake.

good narrator, but the story wasn't strong. If you have read Silent Patient skip this. All of Anna's journal entries could have been removed with no impact on the story.

What a cracker - I was hooked from the start by this intriguing thriller with a lot of twists and turns and a high body count. A great enjoyable true crime-esque listen.

This book is terrible. The premise was interesting but it was ruined by cheap plot twists and an overall terrible execution.
