Honestly didn't think I would like this book as much as I did but I realized I love mysteries and I don't mean thrillers, I mean mysteries. I'm that type of person that tries to figure the whole thing out before the author says it, and I guessed this one although I don't know if it was actually difficult. But I still love it even though I knew the twist. PLus Kerri Maniscalco's writing is so immersive and doesn't interrupt the story at all.

Surprisingly good.
Audio- excellent narration
I went into this book with a slightly negative view. I'm not a fan of the bodice ripper type reads, the whole time period is a meh for me. I was wrong, okay I said it. This book had intriguing characters, a twisted mystery that threw me off till the very end. I was totally surprised. If you enjoy a good mystery or even if you don't give this one a try you may love it like I did.

Stalking Jack the Ripper
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed this book!! Audrey Rose and Thomas both reminded me so much of Tessa and Will (The Infernal Devices). I love the murder-mystery trope and developed several theories while reading, which makes the read so much more interesting. Thomas Cresswell is now added to my book boyfriend list too...

While I enjoyed this book, I didn’t fall in love with it. I know that a lot of the love for this book is due to the constant repetition of how capable a woman can be. I definitely agree with that mentality, but I just didn’t like how that concept was presented. I wanted to be shown how capable Audrey Rose was, but I didn’t need to hear her inner dialogue reminding me of it every five seconds. It just felt Maniscalco was beating a dead horse.
What I did enjoy was the creepiness level. I was definitely on edge multiple times, but it wasn’t too much. I also like that Maniscalco clearly did her research and stuck to the real life events as much as possible (and then at the end she explains where she needed to deviate to make her storyline work).
I also did not like Thomas Cresswell. I thought he was rude, annoying, and condescending. I don’t understand why our main character is so obsessed with him. Actually, I do. It’s just because she thinks he’s cute.
I did really enjoy the ending! I knew who Jack was for most of the book, but I did not think that things were going to play out as they did.
