I did not expect to like this, and honestly the book cover kind of led me off. But alas I was very wrong. The book is not only about the human/lizard alien couple. It's about sustainability, environmental awareness, and awareness of native culture and heritage. The world-building was very well written and I enjoyed how they both tried to learn about each other.

So I guess I'll dive into this series then.

Okay. I’m not gonna lie, I mainly started reading this as a joke. The book cover and blunt as hell title just caught my eye and made me laugh. I thought, “shit I can’t wait for this hilarity.” Jokes on me, because this ended up being super cute.
It was pure fluff. There is a sensible, interesting plot. Stuff happens, but nothing REALLY happens, if that makes sense. Except, ya know, interspecies seggs and all that. Extremely low angst. There’s no cheating, there’s excellent communication between the characters. I mean I’ve never seen such a healthy relationship in real life. I found that more unrealistic than the alien aspect

I read this book after my friend recommended it since I recently enjoyed The Dragons Bride. The “farmers only” vibe and the cover were not up my alley, but I gave it a shot and honestly really liked it!
It was so sweet!
There were misunderstandings and culture clashes, but both of them tried to make it work and help his planet.
I felt like this book took the monster aspect of monster romance and kind of made it less of a weird fetish smut thing and more like a Star Trek episode where you meet weird alien things and try to help them with their planet issues and become invested in their lives.
I definitely recommend this book! Don’t let the title or cover turn you off, it’s actually quite adorable.

People love this one but I was bored. The couple spends half the book apart and that's not why I read romance. The sex was okay, but nothing special, esp since his parts should be "different".

I adore Regine Abel’s stories and somehow I missed that this one was in the works! I was excited when it popped up in my inbox and promptly got to reading. I enjoyed this story immensely. I particularly appreciated that both the male and female leads, Olix and Susan, acknowledged the cultural differences they were facing and struggling with and against, but that they still tried to work together and compromise where necessary.

They didn’t fall into immediate love or even immediate lust, so this one qualifies as a slow burn, I guess, and I liked how they built their relationship. The character building and world building was also significant and I’m hoping there will be more stories in this world - I think it’s gorgeous.

The story is dual POV, well written and edited, and so much fun to read. I received a complimentary copy from the author but this is my honest review.

This might sound weird but the book is very realistic. From the way the MCs were characterized, to how culture and history shaped both of their species. It just made SENSE. The love between the MCs was rather quiet and based on understanding (communication!), mutual respect and friendship (so not over the top, only mild jealousy situations but mostly a healthy relationship).
Anyway i choose to not think too much about how the non human half of this couple looks. I also find the covers a bit idk jarring. But i do think i will read more from this author.

This book was so much sweeter and lighthearted than I expected. It was a beautiful story of two completely different beings learning to accept each other - both for their physical differences and cultural ones.

It wasn’t the most exciting read but it was fun, sweet and short so I really did enjoy it. Olix was the biggest cinnamon roll ever too!
