Brilliant book but honestly such a heavy read both emotionally and technically that it threw me off my reading rhythm. I don't regret reading it, but I had to push through and I wish it had more practical takeaways/advice.

This is more of an academic book than a self help book but the author did provide a lot of good information and advice. When it comes down to it, trauma (especially childhood or adolescent trauma) has a significant impact on our lives. Ways to overcome trauma include therapy, writing, yoga, dance, music, or other arts. And ultimately, a healthy mind leads to a healthy body because your body definitely keeps the score - 4 stars!

Such an informative and captivating read. It’s based in research and years of experience that’s all wrapped into a beautiful book. It’s heartbreaking reading the client’s stories. This is a book I will be re-reading throughout my career!
