I asked for plot, and I was given plot! Huzzah! This volume was exactly what I wanted from the Lumberjanes series.

The lore being built in this volume was fantastic! I loved how much this story created both good character moments and added to the world in big ways that the next volume can run with. Whereas in volume three I was concerned this story was going no where fast and after this volume I am excited to see where it goes from here.

It's been a minute since I was able to get my hands on this series so I sort of forgot who everyone was. But it doesn't really matter in this collection because Jen is the star of the show and everyone else is mostly acting as a herd.

I related so much to Jen! She's a rule follower, she does her best, she feels maybe more responsibility than she should for "her" girls, and they completely overrule her and do what they want to do anyway. It was nice to see her as the focus of the story. I also enjoyed learning a bit more about the history of the Lumberjanes.

The plot is bizarre but would it even be a Lumberjanes collection if it wasn't? This series is practically the definition of a "fun romp" and I look forward to reading more about these campers in the future. I highly recommend this series.

I really liked learning more about the past of the camp and the bear woman, Abigail is an interesting character and I hope she returns at some point in the series.

This is a step up from the last volume with a more contained focus and more back story. Jo gets more character development here with hints at her past life and Jen gets a lot more to do as she moves closer to being a core member of the team. The art work is more consistent here too and it all still works for me. It’s worth reading this for a fun, witty and warm story.

4.5 stars

No one better deserved power than Ripley. So precious. I really want Abigail's library. Also, trans character, yay! So ready for volumes 5 and 6!

Better and better! Can't wait to read the next one.

Best lumberjanes yet!
