I never read this classic but I see it on a lot of “must read” lists. It was published well after I was considered a young adult. LOL So, now I’m curious about what I missed out on.
I would consider this more of a middle grade novel rather than YA. I thought it was a wonderful story and I wish I had read it when I was a young teen or a pre-teen.

Aprecio lo sincero y explícito que es al relatar la vida de Margaret pero 1) ya no soy la demográfica de este libro y 2) mi preadolescencia fue radicalmente distinta así que tampoco encontré una apreciación nostálgica.

rating a children’s book as an adult is kind of weird but 5/5 from an 11 year old me!! it was very nostalgic and fun
Listened on audiobook in two sittings because I needed something to listen to while I cleaned!
It’s really just a cute coming of age story, but I don’t really have much else to say about it. I was entertained the whole time though. I did find it funny how eager Margaret was to get her period, when you know the rest of her life she regrets ever wanting it!

Hard to decide how to rate this one: based on how I felt after reading it when I was 11 or how I feel now at 29 years old? I didn't remember that Margaret's struggle with religion was such a prominent aspect of the book and only remembered the self-discovery and period storylines. Hard to believe this book is banned in certain schools when the actual material could not be more tame.
An unimaginably boring read but I'm not exactly the target audience. Would recommend to an 11 year old.
