2.5⭐️ I was definitely entertained and I’m glad I can read it so that I can keep up with the other characters, but serial killer wanna be hunk, is not my thing. I think it says a lot about how a book is going to go when NO ONE likes Killian, the MC… not his brother, cousins etc. Why do I want to read about someone who antagonizes & annoys the shit out of everyone he’s around? He eventually does redeem himself some what in the end which is why I could get through it. I didn’t like how the dad Asher is made out to be a big asshole to his son Killian. It kinda made sense towards the end, but it didn’t seem right. Also the brother hating on each other in multiple family lines… ugh. Where’s the loyalty?
Glyn’s story is really interesting, as well as how she meets Killian, especially where the story goes with her friend dying.
It was a little confusing keeping everyone straight with which parents and connections from previous reads bc there are so many of them, but I think it’ll become second nature sooner than later with more books.
It was an interesting plot that will continue on in other books.

**warning: suicide, sexual assault, gaslighting, lots of kinks including blood etc.**

Worth the read?: YES
Reread?: NO

Read if you like:
-enemies to lovers
-true psychotic, dark romance
-non-con & dub-con
-bully romance
-feuding elite colleges
-possessive alpha male

The spice was ok.

The plot. Lacking and the morals were super questionable. You are warned there’s some non con in it and it just didnt make sense how Killian is so brutal and Glyndon is just kind of into it after a while. It felt weird.

The writing felt cringey and childish.
The characters are supposed to be in college and sound like they’re 13 at best. It just lacked depth and substance. And the POV of the parents was just weird and not necessary.

This was a 2-2.5 star read at best.

Honestly, I don’t know how how I feel about this book. Some parts were really intriguing but at the same time it sooo predictable. I don’t think I’ll read the other books in the series cuz compared to other dark romance books I’ve read this one doesn’t stand a chance.

Oh well, where do I start with this book?

“Listen to me and listen to me well, Glyndon. I spent my whole life repressing my true nature, but I’d willingly embrace my demons for you. I’d turn into the devil, a monster, and whatever weapon I have to be if it means I can protect you. You will never, ever question me about it, do you hear me?”

I truly hate myself for being okay with this book. I say this in every dark romance review but I mean it this time. The steam in this book is delicious, but I cannot say the same thing to the rest of the book, including our main characters’ behavior towards each other.

This review may include some spoilers so be aware ok?

The first thing which clicked me off was the fact that every single character in this book was a kid. Age of goddamn 21 at most. Some are connected to the mafia, however all of them are quite privileged regarding their family backgrounds. That didn’t make a lot of sense to me because the moment they said “fuck the police, this is personal” and decided to literally go to these people who had done something equally bad to probably kill or hurt very badly at the best case… I was like… bitches what? No wonder why the judgement system and police cannot do their jobs. You keep being this delusional little shits and deal with things in less mindful way and then cry about the police or the lawyers or the court in general. I mean, there should be a decent character AT LEAST to stop these brats to act like the world belonged to them for the fuck’s sake and heavens above.

The author wanted to create a character with psychopathy, and at some points I liked how Killian was distanced, completely out of this world, careless etc. His behavior made sense because he is a psychopath, right? But LADY WHY WOULD YOU MAKE HIM POSSIBLY FALL IN LOVE AND DESTROY THE EVERY RIGHT THING YOU DID REGARDING HIM BEING A PSYCHOPATH?

He should’ve stayed as it is and we could get along, but the change in the character after doing everything to show him in a particular way? Nah. I’ll just pass it.

After saying all this you’d expect me to give two or one stars to this wouldn’t you? Well I cannot because one I am a freak with weird fantasies and I enjoy reading this shit and two I have no self respect so we love toxic masculinity in 21 year old psychotic boys, sounds right? Only in books. Only in books.

I seriously have no idea how my husband deals with me either.

See ya in the next book.

This villain does not turn into a hero, but damn does he get the girl!

This is a DARK romance, so if you have triggers, please read them first. But if you don't, dive in head first like me. Prepare to sweat. Is it hot in here?

Top tier, let me tell you. Killian is possessive with all the caps on! Everyone, including himself, believes that he is like a robot, incapable of feelings, but the little things he did for her throughout the book had me melting. Don't get me wrong, he is an unhinged mf! But I love him so much! I mean, he stopped smoking because she asked him to!

Tropes:
Dark romance
Possessive MMC
Enemies to lovers
Forbidden romance
V/card
College romance
Cat and mouse

Favorite quotes:

“Add a please or drop on your knees. Either will do. Doing them both at the same time would be highly recommended.”

No one has ever touched me with this level of nonnegotiable confidence. No—not confidence. It’s power.

“Cursing me isn’t the definition of a clean slate, Glyndon. We were just talking about you being good, so how about you stick with that, hmm?”

“I like the feel of your quickening pulse.”

“I won something better than a meaningless match.”

“Whether it’s a relationship or not means jack shit to me. That label holds no importance.” “Then what does?” “The fact that you’re mine.”

“Eyes on me when I fuck you, baby.”

“I only wanted to leave.” “You don’t get to leave when you’re sleeping in my fucking arms, Glyndon.

“That’s my girl.”
