5 stars is not enough for this book! Absolutely loved and devoured this book...couldn't put it down.

Going in, make sure you heed the trigger warnings. This is definitely not a conventional romance. There is dub-con/non-con tension. So much toxicity but at the same time I found myself wanting more. These characters were written so beautifully I could feel the longing and resistance and the power dynamics of this couple. Killian craved Glyndon and while she resisted her feelings, she craved him as well.

While Killian is so dark and twisted he is also a drop-dead gorgeous genius. A psychopath with serial killer tendencies and a complete obsession with Glyndon. He's ruthless, unhinged and manipulative but he is unapologetic about it. If MMC with "touch her and I'll unalive you" vibes make you weak, then Killian will be your next book boyfriend.

Glyndon has so many insecurities and I loved seeing how Killian gradually healed them. He was able to help her bring out a fiercer and more confident side. She found her spine and was able to speak up for herself where before she held her tongue and just rolled with the punches. She was able to help Killian find peace within himself. He softened his hard ways and wanted to make sure her needs and desires were met.

The banter between Killian and Glyndon is the best! I loved the push and pull between them. I could really feel how Killian was going against everything that kept him in check all his life to open himself up for her. And I could fell how even though Glyndon was afraid of him to a certain degree and she wanted him to get over his obsession with her, she still wanted to understand him and his thoughts. She could see under his mask to who the real Killian was. She trusted him and knew he would keep her safe, even though she didn't agree with his methods. I mean, who wouldn't fall for a guy that cooked for her and made sure she was taken care of even though he didn't know how to cook!

Loved getting glimpses of their parents and how we can see these kids as adults. The way the world's combine together was done perfectly...it's like getting an extended epilogue. The secondary characters are amazing. Can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series.

There was humor along with suspense, danger and lots of heat!

Well done, Rina. Well done! ...chef's kiss

a rapist who forced a BJ on a suicidal girl right from the very first page… in a college romance???

romanticizing rape culture in a college setting is never cute

this is just too much even for a dark romance, it’s just wrong

This is a (good?) rant review, so bear with me. I literally read the whole RK universe to enjoy this series to its fullest, so, I do have high expectations. I have hyped myself so much for this series that when the characters were introduced, I was jumping up and down (obv not literally, but you get that). This is a very incoherent review so....

I did not care much about Glyndon and Killian's story. It was kind of stupid, the whole Devlin plot-I didn't give a fuck the whole time. Also, who names their child Glyndon and Kill willingly? The nickname 'little rabbit' gave me an ick so bad and so did whenver kill called it 'deflowering' and his dick as 'libido' just ewww.

I didn't actively hate glyn but when she picked killian over, her own brother made me see red. I am never going to choose a random mf who I have known for a month or two over my sibling (even though I hate them). Family comes first, no matter what. That bitch literally criticized lan for the same traits that Killian has. I will never forget that.

I cried badly when Kilian confronted his parents while punching the shit out of Gareth. Asher and Reina failed as parents. The second gen has to have the best parents out there and then there are them. I hate them so much. Aiden cares about his adoptive son more than Asher did for Killian and it showed. His half-ass apology didn't mean shit to me. Saying that your child is defective and should not have been born is downright bad.

Let's come to my fav part of the book-the side characters, the banter and just random shit going here and there. It was so wholesome (?) to me. The king men were so funny. Jonathan being a girl grandad was everything. Being the only girl child in a family is such a privilege (I want that). Lan and Bran being protective of her was so cute. That 'never have I ever' game was so funny (ava being the freaky one was not on my list). NikoBran are my babies. I want their book now. And, I have a feeling that no. 89 was none other than our pretty lotus flower

I really liked this overall BUUUT it loses points because the repetition with the degradation started to get grating, like there wasn’t a variety, it was just the same thing each time
