Wow! I can't even begin to describe how much I loved this book. I listened to the audio and just fell in love with Connor Crais and Jennifer Blom's performances. Nick is a rockstar that has been in the game for a long time. Dalia is attending his concert when it abruptly ends upsetting a lot of fans. One disapproving tweet from Dalia with Nicks curt response brings these two "enemies" together.
Dalia soon finds herself working on Nick's tour because she lost her job. At first of course its clear that these two can't stand each other, but as the book progresses that slow begin to "tolerate" each other. Once the sparks fly, these two can't get enough of each other, and I couldn't get enough of them!
I loved this audiobook. Connor Crais sings! I repeat Connor Crais sings! I love narrators that fully get into character when giving a performance. I look forward to exploring more books in this series!

The Appalachian Bookworm
Times Like These by Julia Wolf starts off with Dalia Brenner, dragged to a concert by her little sister, filming one of the musician’s passing out and falling off stage. Understandably pissed that her sister’s favourite band has ruined the experience for her, Dalia tweets the video, even tagging the (fairly famous) band - Blue is the Color. The next day, she ends up losing her job because their angry fans found out who she was and where she worked in order to harass her.
When the guy who collapsed gets in touch with her to apologize for how their fans have been treating her and the four-letter name the lead singer - Nick Fletcher - called her, she ends up being offered a job. The band is about to depart for The Swerve Tour and their manager needs some extra help. Although Dalia dislikes Nick fletcher, she takes the job because she needs the extra money for college. Which is how Dalia ends up sleeping three feet from him on a tour bus for two months.
The tour is nothing like Dalia has ever experienced, especially since her little sister who she is close with isn’t there with her. She meets lots of new people and even makes a few friends along the way. This includes the band members, even Nick. Dalia isn’t planning on getting attached and Nick has a lot of issues he needs to work out but none of that matters. They end up falling for one another, slowly and passionately.
Times Like These is the first book by Julia Wolf that I’ve read and I have to say I’m completely addicted. Her characters are interesting and flawed. The way she writes is captivating. I couldn’t stop reading once I’d started. It had everything I could have asked for in a romance novel. Enemies to friends to lovers. Slow, slow, slow burn. Strong female friendships. And of course, the heat and chemistry between Nick and Dalia. If you’re a fan of these things, I highly recommend this book!

I follow a lot of authors on Booktok and Twitter and always get a bit nervous to read their books if I’ve never read them before. After following someone for months, and genuinely enjoying their content and personality, the last thing I want to do is read their story and not end up liking it. *Insert awkward laugh* Luckily for me I really enjoyed reading “Times Like These” and getting to know the members of Blue is the Color.
Are you a fan of Alphahole’s that show some vulnerability? The most important thing in Nick’s life is the wellbeing of his fellow bandmates, the men he met in his teens and grew up alongside. Nick will not tolerate anyone speaking badly about his found family. So when someone tweets a video of his friend, Jasper, passing out during their concert he’s livid. Without stopping to think of the potential ramifications, due to his large platform and supporters, he calls the person a “cunt” which causes a lot of negativity to head Dalia’s way.
Dalia, who hadn’t wanted to go to the concert, was trying to support her sister by attending her sister’s favorite band’s performance. When she see’s a Rockstar pass out, in the early moments of said concert, she’s upset for her sister who had been so excited to see this band live. Little did she know, one small tweet would drastically change her life. Not only is she harassed online by thousands of people she’s also fired from her job…who knew her boss was a huge BitC fan?
Jasper feeling horrible for the way Nick, and their fans, treated Dalia invites Dalia over to formally apologize and explain what caused him to pass out during the concert. During the apology he, and the band’s manager, find out about Dalia being fired and so they offer her a job. If Dalia want’s she can travel with the band for the next two month’s doing any, and all, odd jobs they need done.
Little do they, Dalia and Nick, know the next two months are going to change not only how they see the world but how they see their futures. If you like alpha holes, forced proximity, curvy tattooed ladies, and Rockstar romances…you’ll definitely enjoy this book! I look forward to picking up the other books and seeing the rest of the band find their other halves.
