I know I gave three stars but that’s based on prose and not vibes. I really liked this. Great spice. It is what it is if that makes sense.
Story line wasn't really noteworthy, but I did have a great time reading this. The characters are well developed and the writing is done well. There were a few lines in the book that really hit home. I'll definitely be adding the second book to the TBR pile.
I really wanted to like this one - but I couldn't care less about the two MC. They were so annoyed with each other. ugh.
Times Like These was an easy read about a rocker named Nick who after tweeting an unkind word about a concert goer gets said concert goer thrust into his life. The was an enjoyable, fluffy read.
This story made me smile while reading and made my heart happy.
I loved this rockstar romance. Nothing like a grumpy/sunshine (with a smart mouth lol) book. I literally binged read this. The spice was good and I definitely think you should stop what you are doing and read it :)
First of all, I'm totally fan-girling here because the book is about rockers from Baltimore (where I was born) and they mention a concert venue from the city in Maryland where I've lived for 20 years. Yay local representation! :)
This was a solid 4.5-star read for me. The characters stood out on the page as multidimensional, fully-realized individuals -- even the supporting characters who will appear in the following books. I loved both Nick and Dalia, even when Nick was being a jerk and Dalia was acting over the top.
There was a third act breakup, but unlike so many other books I've read, it was done really well. It stemmed from a natural progression of the two MC's backstory/emotional state/desires/fears. They both acted as you would expect them to act in the blowup scene. The best parts were first, that they both used the time off to gain emotional maturity and stability AND Nick's grovel was perfection. (There are few plot points I dislike more than a guy who massively screws up and gets the girl back without the appropriate amount of regret and growth needed to make it up to our heroine.)
All that said, this was a great book and is on my "read again" list. I'm shying away from saying it's a full 5 stars because I usually reserve that rating for the rare book that leaves me feeling ruined for all other books and this one didn't quite make it to that level of intensity for me.
