A charming heartfelt romance, about a girl meeting her Canadian hockey boyfriend she made up when she was a teenager. This book takes you into the lives of the two main character Mike Martin, who is a professional hockey player, a widower, but also a loving father who's main focus is raising his daughter. The other main is Aurora Evans, former ballerina, who turned into a dance teacher, who was pretending to date a Canadian hockey player as a teenager.

This would be a 4.5 - 5 stars.
Someone kindly gifted me this book off of my amazon wishlist and I am so glad that they did because I absolutely loved this book, and Jenny Holiday's writing. The writing in this novel was light and tender hearted.

I absolutely adored this book, it made me giggle, and I also annotated the crap out of this book. This book felt like a winter cozy read. All the Canadian references made me love the book even more. The man that narrated Canadian boyfriend has such a nice voice, I think it was Joshua Jackson, he did such a great job of narrating this book. The author discussed hard topics pretty gracefully, and she talked about it really well. Her mother was a bitch, how could you do that to your daughter, and how could you not make up with her after 3 years, I don't know that part of the book just hurt. Also is it just me or does anyone else hate the third act break up, just let the characters be together. The way he proposed was the cutest thing, I loved the idea and how he listened to her, cared for her, and loved her. I really wanted this book to be longer so I could see their future a little better, and I wanted to know Olivia's reaction to Rory get engaged to Olivia's dad. The amount of times this book almost made me cry oh my goodness.

I hope to pick up more Jenny Holiday books in the future, because I did really enjoy this one, and hope to pick up more.

This was very cute. I listened to the audiobook. Kind of silly at times, very much seemed like y/n fan fiction but I enjoyed it.

that was the dumbest third act breakup i’ve ever read. even joshua jackson’s narration couldn’t save it.

I had never read anything by this author, so I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it! All the characters were really fun and likeable and I enjoyed reading from both povs which is rare for me! Would say it’s a “hockey adjacent romance” which was fun too. Also way love when authors make up sports teams because them usually have silly names🤪
