Well, this series is quite cool and questions a lot of human society and looked great but, did it really make sense? i read the series multiple times and only after about the third time did anything make sense. If you enjoy having to piece together stories every time you read it, this may be your book because i would say it would take many,MANY reads to understand it fully. Still so, it does have great plot twist, images,characters and lots of people in emotional trauma.

Like over 10 years ago now the Neon Genesis Evangelion movies are what got me into anime, the medium that fundamentally formed my teen years and for that alone the series will forever have a special place in my heart. So it's very fortunate that it's also just straight up amazing. Kind of a crime it took me so long to start reading the manga but here we are.

Four stars out of nostalgia, mostly, since I watched the anime ages ago. But I'd give this three stars, since I only read it as part of the Read Harder Challenge; and then two because it has many volumes and I feel the obligation to finish them somehow, which means I'll be reading these for the next five years, at least.
