This book was made to help people stop procrastinating through productive planning. There was some helpful insights in the book, but other than the productive planning, it focused on positive thinking and the power of speaking things into existence which is the point where it lost credibility for me.

A thoughtful and proactive approach to life, presented in a relatable and practical way. In this concise book, Michael Hyatt and Daniel Harkavy lay out a step-by-step method for developing a life plan—a living document intended to help you map out how to get from where you are to where you want to go.
Hyatt and Harkavy don’t go into the finer points of mindset or success coaching in this book, and that’s what makes it so accessible. It’s written for anyone who has goals and would like to be remembered well. It’s written for parents and teachers and CEOs and entrepreneurs…even students. Truly, any adult can read this book and walk away with a written plan and the tools to execute it.
Because of my coaching background, much of the content felt familiar, but the planning was still a powerful exercise. Creating a life plan made me take a hard look at my priorities, my career, and my direction in a new light. And it’s such a quick read—I can’t believe I put it off for even a few months.
I chose to read this book at the top of the year, but it is certainly a powerful read at any time of year. Regardless of when you begin this book or your life plan, because the plan is a living document, there is no need to confine this read to a specific time. Honestly, now is the best time. Whenever now is for you.
If you choose to read this book (and you should—everyone should), commit to doing the work alongside your reading. I believe there is value in doing the work right away, while the content is fresh in your mind, and I promise you won’t be disappointed when you complete your life plan and feel a renewed sense of direction and intentionality.

I love the life plan idea and I’m going to put one together for myself and get Mr. to put one together too. Relatively short book and well written.
Considerably more awkward bible mentions than I would’ve expected from a Michael Hyatt book; they came from the other guy, Daniel Harkovy, but all his client examples were from people running “Christian businesses” which made me want to take a large step back.
Eek. So many bad experiences today from people who have to keep reminding you they’re Christian. I wish I could’ve enjoyed the book without wondering what scandals they all got up to.

This is another practical tool for the toolbox, but it oversimplifies transformation. The book's sole focus is developing a Life Plan. The authors detail how to develop a life plan and how this will focus your life and free you up to pursue the things that matter most. They include free downloads that are simple and handy. The Life Plan exercise is a great to help individuals prioritize, focus in on personal values and step towards an intentional life. With discipline, it can yield productive results, however, the book remains superficial and ultimately becomes a tool on how build the BEST to-do list EVER. The book does little to address the importance of self-awareness and ego. I'm not asking for a whole chapter on ego, but the Life Plan will have little value if it's written by the pen of a narcissist.

I had no idea what to expect from this book and quite frankly, the title and description sounded boring. But boy was I wrong! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to block off some time to create a life plan! I highly recommend this book to everyone - not just those running a business!
