Cadı Avcısı hakkında beklentim çok düşüktü. Dört yıldan uzun süredir kitaplığımda öylece okunmayı beklediği için artık bir okuyayım diyerek başladım. Büyük ihtimalle konusu hakkında ya da neler olduğu hakkında pek bir fikrim olmadığından ve gerçekten beklentim olmadığından okurken keyif aldım.
Kafamda tam oturmuş bir kurgu değil ve gerçekten mantıksız olduğunu düşündüğüm çok şey oldu. Ayrıca Elizabeth gerçekten ona ne derlerse inanıyordu. A kişisi kötü derseler evet kötü iyi deseler evet iyi diyordu resmen. Böyle itiraz eder gibi oluyor ama genel olarak o kadar güçlü ve sert birine göre hiç sorgulamadan doğru haklısınız deyip geçiyordu. Bu beni biraz rahatsız etti. Bir de her şey çok hızlı oldu. Ben daha bir olayı sindiremeden başka başka bir sürü şey gerçekleşmeye başladı.
Bütün bunlara rağmen gerçekten hızlı okunan ve hiç sıkmayan bir kitaptı. Ayrıca her ne kadar laf etsem de Elizabeth'in karakter gelişimini okumak çok güzeldi. Yan karakterler de mükemmeldi. John, Fifer, George, Nicholas, Peter, Humbert, Schuyler... Hepsini çok sevdim. Hepsi okuması keyifli karakterlerdi. Özellikle Fifer, George ve John'dan hangisini daha çok sevdim emin değilim.
Aslında ikinci kitabı okumam diye düşünüyordum kitaba başlarken ama gerçekten okuması güzeldi ve karakterlere ne olacak merak ediyorum o yüzden büyük ihtimalle onu da alıp okuyacağım.
Son olarak kitabın baskısı, sayfaları, kapağı o kadar güzel ki. Kitabı elimde tutmaktan ya da sadece öylece bakmaktan bile çok keyif alıyorum.

Hum... The book wasn't bad, I had a lot of fun with some characters (Schuyler, at most), but I found myself wanting it to end fast during all my reading experience. Oh, and where's the sorority in this book? I mean... The protagonist only has guy friends, and I would get that considering the scenario where she lives, but she also seens to despise women, and women seem to despise her the same way. Things get different in the second half of the book, but before that, it's all hate between them, fighting to see who gets the male.
Reading this book was utterly fantastic, loved to hate the world, and just so enjoyable to read! Can't wait for the next book!

This was just so good. The writing and story were fast-paced, there were likable characters, a nice romance, some twists. What more could one ask for? I so look forward to reading the sequel!

Good elements, but fairly mediocre tbh. Wish the alchemical stuff got more attention, and we saw more of the magical creatures/people. Malcolm was a huge plot point and yet we never see or here of him? And there is too much damn instaluv. John/Elizabeth is cute and all, but seriously? You don't tell someone you've known for all of a month that you're in love with them. Maybe I'm just salty that nothing Graceling-level has yet graced the shelves of YA sections everywhere. TLDR: if you need a fantasy fix REALLY bad, this might leave you half-satisfied.

I really enjoyed this book, although I think it's a bit of a reach to compare it to Graceling and Game of Thrones.
I really liked the characters and and magic rules. I thought a few storylines and characters could have been explored more (Elizabeth's relationship with the King because it was hard to figure out how she felt about him, and Revenants in general). But I'm hoping there will be more books in the series, because there's a definite door left open for one.
