Sweetness, steaminess, and that wonderful wrap me up in ooooieee gooooieee feelings. That is what reading Erin Nicholas brings everytime I open one of her books and I love it!!

This book kept hitting me in all the different feels and throwing me for a loop on which feeling it was going to wring out of me next. Oh my heart, it was sooooo good.

Colin Daly works in security and used to be the bodyguard to Saoirse, the daughter of Fiona and a real little princess, but with a change in circumstances Colin is looking for another long term security position and it might just be Hayden Ross, an up and coming singer who might be the next big thing. However, Colin's desire for her could put a kink in that plan and not the kinky kind of kink.

Hayden Ross is the sweetest, kindest, and openly honest woman living on the planet. I adored her character and loved her not only with Colin but also with his entire crew. The brotherly bond between Colin, Henry, Jonah, and Cian was so sweet and fun, I loved how they all interacted with each other and more importantly with Hayden. It was the family bond she needed in her life.

There was some danger and mystery woven throughout this story...I mean Hayden does need a bodyguard to guard her body after all...but my favorite parts of the story always revolve around the deep emotions and the crying I constantly do right after fanning myself from the super steamy naked times.

This was a really good read! The writing flowed well, and as always, I was sucked in from the first page and couldn't put it down. I've read the other books from this author that involved Colin, so while I knew who he was, this book gave a lot more detail about him and how he felt about things. Hayden was super sweet and I thought she was great for Colin. They were both nurturers, so they always loved to be taking care of other people. I did feel bad for Hayden because I felt like her family took her for granted and only really paid attention to her when she could do something for them. Which lead to my only eye roll of the book. She got mad at Colin for pointing out everything she had mentioned and he thought things would go one way, but she had to prove a point to her family and do things the other way. Then realized Colin was actually right. The ending was a little bittersweet for me. Colin and Hayden get their HEA, it's just a little different than what I was hoping for. I can't wait to find out what happens with Cian, Torin, Henry and Jonah!
I reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Erin delivered another fun trip to Autre. I can’t get enough of her Bayou stories. Colin and Hayden’s story was a fun, sweet, steamy good time. When Hayden is getting unwanted attention from a fan she goes to get help from Colin and his team. These two had chemistry from the start and I loved watching these two get to know each other during their time together. I love the relationships between them and the team also, they were a found family and protect each other. Another great story from Erin that I couldn’t put down.

The story is told in third person and is narrated in duet by Connor Crais and Angelina Rocca. These two were amazing at bringing Colin, Hayden and the town of Autre to life and I loved every moment of their performances.

Colin and Hayden’s story was wonderful! Sexy, interesting, funny, and intense, the story flowed so easily I had trouble putting it down. I loved the conflicted feelings Hayden had about becoming a rockstar, how nurturing both Colin and Hayden were, the relationship between Colin and Saoirse, and the found family they guys and Hayden created. Overall, I think this is a must read for fans of this author, and definitely one I’ll recommend to friends.

Colin gets his HEA after "losing" Saoirse.

Hayden is perfect for Colin as Colin is for her - Loved seeing these two come together & work through their difficulties

Ellie does have her say - she just had to leave the bar to do it.

Can't wait for the Royals (Torin, Declan, & Cian(really can't wait for Cian's story - I can imagine it's going to be a doozy!)!! Hopefully Jonah & Henry get their HEAs too!

I could not love Colin and Hayden more! Colin is a bodyguard in search of his next job, and Hayden is an up and coming singer who finds herself in need of protection from a stalker. Colin and Hayden have spectacular chemistry right from the start, and I enjoyed seeing their relationship develop amongst their own self-made family. Plus, I welcome any opportunity to return to Autre, to the crazy and amazing Landry family, and, in particular, the sage wisdom of Ellie Landry. I am looking forward to what happens in the next book in the Badges of the Bayou series!

Rocked Bayou ARC Review

Couple: Colin and Hayden

Author: Erin Nicholas

Tropes: body guard romance, off limits romance, enemy to lover, forced proximity

Review: WE all love brooding bodyguard romance and this book has it in spades! Hayden and Colin are the best couple and they both have striking differences in their personalities.

Hayden is a poster and on her way to stardom after being found in a NOLA cafe. Colin is the head of a private security and bodyguard firm. He refuses to admit his attraction to Hayden since he feels it is inappropriate.

The main arc in the book is Harden’s stalker who brings out all the protective alpha vibes in Colin. The best parts of this book were Hayden’s sunshine and positive nature even when she was scared to wits. Reading how the author wrote the interactions between her and Colin’s friends and family allowed us to see how amazing she was.

This book is a quicker read and encompasses all the main points in the trope. Be warned that you will laugh out loud though since the wit and banter is top notch. Both characters bring out each others best and they have struggles that tear into them as well.

Enjoy!

Rating: 4.5/10, I want more!

This book was so good! It was a fun story of the most unique couple falling head over heels LITERALLY and then metaphorically.

Colin is very good at reading people and picked up on her desires before she had all of them figured out. That broke them for a few days. When she figured out he was right all along their relationship was able to continue down the path it was meant to follow ❤️❤️

Now the narrators!!

Connor Crais is a genius with accents! His Irish is literal perfection. His English for the Henry character was great by about the middle and he had really stepped into it.

He had to switch between American English, England English and Irish accents at almost the drop of a hat while voicing the four main men in the book and THEN Erin through Bayou accents at him also lol he did so well!

Angelina Rocco is new to me but I love her soft spoken but firm tones. She was great in this role!
