Could not get over the colonialist views of the main characters. I only listened to this much bc it was the only thing I had downloaded on my phone, but I wanted to give up much sooner.
Well, this one took me a long time to finish. I finally had to skim through all the descriptions of underwater sea creatures and just read the parts that actually moved the story forward. There's really quite a lot to like here, it's just too bad that all the descriptions bog the story down so much. This is one of the few books that I might actually recommend reading a slightly abridged version of, just because of ALL THE FISH.
