Two lil gay boys make me so happy 🥹 glad kids nowadays get a chance to see queer characters in a nice way

I have watched the show and had been meaning to read the books for a while now. This was such a heartwarming read. I don't know how else to explain it, but there is so much tenderness in the drawings that I didn't expect. Alice Oseman perfectly captures so many adolescent experiences and emotions perfectly– blushing embarrassment, nervousness and anxiety, feelings of aloneness, and purehearted earnestness. I often find that when I read graphic novels, that at least for me, the art doesn't meaningfully contribute to the atmosphere and emotions that are verbally being conveyed. This was so different. The drawings made me feel like I was wrapped in warm blanket. idk idk it was just so cute and sweet.

I wish I had this book in late middle school. I loved graphic novels and could have used a warm, loving, healthy coming of age gay romance book.

I can't tell if I like it because I watched the series, or if I just genuinely like it. Either way, it's very wholesome and made me happy.

I held off reading this for so long. Not for any particular reason I just couldn’t find it pulling my attention. But on a very cold and rainy March morning I thought I’d give it a try. I devoured it within an hour and loved it so much. I see so much of myself in both Nick and Charlie and it’s so nice to see yourself reflected back in a book. It’s a lovely, soft, loving and quick read, and I know the whole series is going to be amazing now.
