This was a cute workplace romance, fake dating, forced proximity, billionaire boss romance. Everly and Shepherd have been executive assistant and boss for three years now. No one has been able to work for Shepherd for that long so naturally she’s the one he calls when he needs a fake date. A fun cast of supporting characters which we will continue to see in the next two books. Plus a fun cameo from another series! If you like these tropes, definitely check this out. Claire’s writing is fun and witty we love a confident sunshine girl who can hold her own against her grumpy boss.

Absolutely love

I rarely leave reviews but this book deserves all the praise in the world. I read about 200 books a year and I’ve probably read 100 so far in 2019. It’s August now. I can say with certainty that this is my favorite book I have read this year. It is so superior to other books in its sub-genre (fake relationship/engagement). I enjoyed every single character, and I appreciated the character development throughout the book. Every single character was well developed and well thought out as well as enjoyable to read. There was no character that I didn’t like or felt was unnecessary to the plot. It was wonderfully written and one I will read again and again!

Ohhhhh my goodness. This book was suggested to me by a book buddy. She said that she read it and loved it and wanted to spread the word. I had never read anything by Claire before so I figured I would give it a shot.

I.WAS.HOOKED by the time the book hit 3%. I am not even kidding.

Everly is a force to be reckoned with in terms of a good heroine in a story. She's confident and not confident at the same time. It's confusing to watch how she is in her professional life vs private life. But she is that person that everyone likes and it made me feel good to read a character like hers.

Shepherd, her "robot" boss gets himself in quite the predicament and needs the right person to help him out so he asks his Assistant, Everly.

And the two of them together is a fireworks show. It starts off with those little ones that go up one at a time and winds up as the finale of a sky full of lights.

If you like wacky secondary characters too, you will find plenty of them in this story. Gahhh. I just loved it.

Enjoyable despite the predictable premise. I really enjoy grumpy x sunshine, so this book was so easy to read. Both Everly and Shep's perspectives were interesting and enjoyable to read from. I disliked the plot device that the sister introduces, and the sister's pushy-ness regarding it. But overall, a fun and sweet rom-com.

A running club that stops for martinis at the end of a run? That’s an exercise club I can get behind! I love this series idea. I love this group of friends. I want a martini running club!

This is Claire Kingsley at her best. I absolutely loved this book. I flew threw it. Claire Kingsley always delivers a fun, light, hot read. That book was no exception. I fell in love with Everly. She was so easy to fall in love with. Romance heroines are not often efficient, organized, Type As, but Everly is, and I love it. She is observant and logical. I adore her.

I actually also loved Shep. He is a blissfully ignorant man, who never notices Everly as a woman until he absolutely has to. As far as billionaire boss types go, Shep is one of the good ones.

I can’t wait for the rest of this series! Check it out if you’re in the mood for a good RomCom.

I got to 11% and was not enjoying whatsoever so I read some reviews to decide whether I continue or not. Shepherds decisions regarding his father and the svetlana situation are absolutely idiotic and I’m glad I didn’t waste my time

I really enjoyed this Close-Proximity/Fake Dating romance because it was easy to read and was just super simple. I liked that Everly had a core group of friends to spiral to and how she and Sheppard grew to like each other. Totally would consider reading more of the books in the series to get to know some of the other characters!

This was so cute and fun!! Third act break up was dumb but short lived so that's okay. Love Everly and her lil girl gang... super excited to continue this series and the other girls' stories
