This book was a 2.5 stars but so close to 3 I am rounding up. Some of the storytelling was just a little flat. But it had an original fake date/fake fiancé storyline and I really liked Everly.
It wasn’t really a comedy but ok. If it was all the jokes missed me. 2.75 stars
Everly is a fantastic assistant. She doesn't even require her taciturn, impersonal boss to say "hello" or "good morning". She gets her work done and does it well.
When said boss, Shepherd Calloway, requires Everly's help after hours, lines start blurring and Shepherd finally notices just how beautiful and alluring his assistant is.
A forced proximity romance, this one hooked me from the first page. I fell in love with the subtle romance between Shepherd and Everly. And it didn't take long for the heat.
There were misunderstandings and fears that drove a wedge between these two. But, in the end, the romance was sweet, sexy, and just what I was looking for.

This may be the best romance I've read in ages. The author was outstanding at weaving many plot lines together, she had LGBTQ representation, her women were smart and independent, her men could be sensitive. All wrapped with a HEA ending. I'll have another!
that was just so awful. i saw the third act breakup coming from light years away and the reason was so fucking stupid??? like i almost stopped reading when the sister started talking about asking him for his SPERM BECAUSE WHAT?????? no one in their fucking right mind would ever do that?????? asking your sister to ask her boss for his literal. sperm. because you think he’s hot is so unrealistic that it made me cringe so hard i almost dnfed which i never ever do. like there are other hot people in the world??? i think dylan o brien is hot but i’m not asking his assistant to ask him to give me his sperm now am i?? that was i think the number one most stupid conflict i have ever read about. you had so many options. he literally had issues with other women only wanting his money?? if you needed a third act breakup that badly just use that??? that was so bad i’m literally getting angry at how stupid that book was okay bye
