DID NOT FINISH

I've tried .. Really I have.
But holy cow. . This book is just well boring and completely absurd!
H (Shepherd or Shepard whatever) has worked with h for nearly three years & describes her as nice to look at then one night he needs an impromptu date so he decides to call on her. He demands that she dress sexy btw (Sexual harrrasmnet anybody?) which she does and suddenly after that he becomes obsessively attracted to her. WTF?!

Also he was just so cold and I basically felt nothing for him as a MC.

Now everly the h was extremely naïve and just a plain 'Yes' girl it was hard to even relate to her.

Who the hell accepts to move in with his boss after 24hrs of him coming up with a stupid reason to fake dating & sleep in his bed and doesn't even bat an eyelash. Then they concoct an engagement in less than a week all the while their interactions just seem. . BLAND!

Also I honestly did not get the need to make hazel (one of h's best friend) seem so robotic.

Anyway DNF @48% maybe I'll be bored enough in future to finish this supposed Rom Com

This book was SOOOO cute!!!!!!!

Mr Rich guy who cares about nothing but his company and his family, suddenly one day is forced into an uncomfortable predicament and who does he call to act in as his fake girlfriend? His personal assistant Everly. They go from employer and employee to living with each other in a matter of days and it was so perfect.
What I really loved about this is there’s no miscommunication!
She obviously notices that he’s attractive but he’s her boss so she doesn’t really form any other type of attachment and before roping her into this arrangement he never thought twice about her. Not until he was forced to look at her under that different light.
That honestly made their relationship a little sweeter, a little more genuine feeling even though it was all a rouse to convince his father he was in this relationship.
The resolution at the end was also really nice, I thought the whole story was super sweet.

That’s was such a sweet read!
I love how genuine author reveals Shepherd character to us, from col detachment man to that kind kinky loving bear.
Everlasting is sunshine, her inner need to protect Shepherd, to wait for him to open makes my heart melt.
That thing with donor is kind of odd, actually a lot.
I adore Nora and Hazel - their intervention in was superior

"To Everly. May this time of Singlehood be as long or as brief as she wishes. And may the next man in her life be the one to sweep her off her feet, and may he also have a big dick."

I think I found myself another romance author to love, and I ain't even mad about it.

In this new release Faking Ms. Right by Claire Kinslgey, we are told the story of Shepard Calloway, a "emotionally stunted" CEO, and his assistant Everly. When Shepard's recent ex concocts a plan to get back at him and with him, Calloway takes action--and that action is Everly.

Now it is no surprise to anyone who has been following my reading journey for a while now on how much I love me the fake relationship trope. So when I heard that this novel would have not only my favorite trope, but also be an office romance?! Ya girl jumped on it with the quickness! Never have I seen myself make quicker grabby hands than in this moment.

Right off the bat, I felt an immediate connection to our main heroine, Everly, she is described as an independent ray of sunshine that gets shit done; and man was that the truth. I loved getting to know her more and watching her navigate through her bad luck of a dating life. So many times during my time reading her story I found myself laughing out loud at her sassy remarks and inner dialogue and closing my eyes in solidarity for moments that you just can't help but say "I feel that" too.

I don't have much to say about our main hero, Shepard, except wow he is a swoon fest I would to get my hands on and never let go. Broody and emotionless in the office, I loved how Kingsley took her time to really develop this character. The pacing of the development was spot on as we got to see him slowly begin to open up and trust those he loves with a side of him he has never allowed anyone else to see. Like I said, I was a bucket of swoon.

With chemistry off the charts and steam you can only get in a sauna--this book was romantic comedy that I will be sure to reread down the line. I highly recommend this book to any one who loves a good fake relationship office romance and isn't afraid to fan themselves a time or two!

Huge thank you to the author and Enticing Book Journey Promotions for sending me an ARC for my honest review! Quotations taken from an uncorrected proof and may change upon final publication.

Cute rom-com. Short, sweet, and steamy. A nice break between the darker stuff that I read.

Must Read!

Everly and Shep are proof that opposites attract. The chemistry between the two of them leaps off the pages. I discovered that once I started the book, I couldn't put it down.
