Everly and Shepherd, whew...so much sexiness and fun and love and just a touch of angst woven into this story. I connected to the characters right away and can't wait for Nora and Hazel's stories. The fake relationship trope can feel a little forced and tired sometimes, but this author wrote it gorgeously. It was believable, unique, and a really fun, sexy read.

This book has been on my TBR for a while. I finally decided to take the plunge and I’m so glad I did. This book was pure happy making. Sheppard and Everly are your definitive Grumpy Sunshine. Right off the bat you want to be friends with Everly. She is always happy and takes everything life throws at her in stride. Shepherds characters definitely starts out with grumpy ass hole vibes but as the book continues he opens up. This book is definitely one you want to read!

This was fast-paced, a fun time, and I enjoyed the romance. I'm pretty sure I'll forget most of the plot of this one in about a week, but I had fun while reading it!

Unexpectedly entertaining

We always find those books about "Mr. Right" this book offered a unique spin on a well told story. I enjoyed the witty banter of the the friends. A strong successful woman who can hold her own like Everly was just a perfect antidote to Shepherd's cold demeanor. I loved taking the adventure of watching them get too know each other was a great time.

I loved this book!! I'm usually more of a psychological thriller type, but every once in awhile, I like a good romantic comedy. This was definitely a feel good book!!!

Bro charters a private jet to declare his love and as soon as he arrives, she’s like “Why didn’t you just call me?” Lmao

This was fine. Lots of dumb decisions made by people. But the spicy scenes were some of the best I’ve read

I started this because I think I saw a Tiktok quote (so on brand for me) but, as I started, I was convinced that I’ve read it before? Turns out, Not, but it was verra similar to something else. These things happen when you mainly read contemporary romance … it’s my lot in life and I accept my fate hehe.
That being said, I was constantly tripping over the patriarchal bullshit and the internalised fatphobia of the FMC and her friends. Plus the internalised misogyny if the MMC. I didn’t like it, and it kept pulling me from the story.
His hidden musical life felt a little random and maybe not entirely fleshed out? Like, why hide it? I understand why but I feel like there was a conversation missing, for some additional context. And the throwaway talk of his mother felt thrown in a swell. Love his studio apartment full of guitars, though. I’m down with that.
