I found this randomly while scrolling through books to take on as my next read and let me tell y'all ... I was quite surprised!!
As I didn't know anything about this series and hadn't read anything by the author before, I had zero expectations going into it. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it! I found it hilarious, romantic, and swoony, and it had the right mixture of drama involved towards the end. I look forward to reading the other books in the series!

The past tense writing style while things are happening in the present is like jumping through mental hoops.
I was so sad to have to DNF this book, it has all the slow burn and enemy to lovers tropes I require I just COULDNT make it past chapter two in the past tense

I love this author's writing style! This story was so good, I can't wait to read the next one in the series!
I loved it just as much the second time I read it. Shepherd and Everley are such a great couple. He's got a lot of layers under the crusty surface and she finally finds the right guy after kissing a lot of frogs.

This was the perfect palette cleanse book. I liked the characters and the conflict. Things were resolved well enough. The ending tho a bit cliche was a perfect romance ending.

Everly, the FMC, is a head-strong sunshine who sometimes has her head in the clouds, but very lovable.
The MMC, Shepard (the weirdest name..but whatever), is a rich handsome broody billionaire and Everly's boss. I really liked his character, because he was a bit different than the typical hot MMC billionaire. He had flare to his character.
Weird and hilarious circumstances lead to them fake-dating, with twists and turns every other chapter.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I would 10/10 recommend, if you are looking for an easy-breezy romantic comedy.

Definitely wasn’t expecting the sex scenes to be as aggressive as they were, but I guess the fourth book I read in this series prepped me for it.
