I DNF’ed this book. I loved this series but I felt like this book wasn’t necessary to the story. I was so bored and decided to stop halfway through. I feel like it would have been better as a shorter novella that gave an insight into Sorin and Thalia.

4⭐️ This was a good quick read and a good way to end the series!
I always loved Thalia and Sorin and they finally got their happy ending, even if Thalia had to be pushed a little bit by the human king to see it.

**Warning: some gore, minor blood play**

My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️.5

General Thoughts: I was curious about this one. I really liked these characters in prior books, but it also difficult to switch POVs, focal points in a series and have readers fall in love with those characters just as much as they did with those they've read books about.

I was invested in this story/relationship. The author did a great job there. I wish I had seen slightly more discussion/conversation about something that happened in book 3 that caused the break between the two main characters. I also thought that the ending resolved perhaps too neatly. (It's a common problem I have with books, so maybe a me thing.)

Now that we've got that out of the way, I still really loved this one. Holly Renee is such a great writer. I enjoy the way she tells her stories, how her characters interact with each other, and how she writes. It's very unique and refreshing. As I've said, her stories drive fast and hard the whole time. Not a lot of downtime, and with the way she writes, it works. Dying to see how she finishes the Veiled Kingdom series, and I'm also curious to read her non-fantasy books now.

Ok y’all Sorin is hot, Thalia is hot, Evren is still hot as hell and yeah you get the gist. Everyone is hot and I loved the continuation of this world following Sorin and Thalia’s romance

Not gonna lie I was disappointed when this 4th book in the series switched viewpoints . I loved Sorin & Thalia so much and they ADDED to the MAIN STORY .. I would have MUCH rather the series continued with a story for all of them like the rest of the series . This last one kinda ruined it for me . Was hard to even finish cuz it was kinda a replay of Evren & Adaras beginning. :/

I love that they wanted to tell Sorin and Thalia ‘s story, but it seemed rushed and not believable. I also don’t feel like Sorin was a fully fleshed out character. He felt very similar to Evren. I feel like this book rushed through to the happy ending with weak characters and a plot and resolution that made little sense.

Omg I love this world. When we meet these two as side characters I couldn’t wait for their story. Thalia and Soren are perfect for each other. This book was so emotional. Thalia has a lot of trauma to overcome to find her happy ever after with Soren. This book is best read after The Stars and Shadows trilogy.
