This was a five star read for me the whole way through until we got near the end and it was revealed that he knew who Thalia was and the storyline went from there. It felt really rushed and like too much was crammed into a short space because it was the last 40 pages or so. I would’ve preferred the story to be slightly longer and that part of the story stretched out a little

The finale to the Stars and Shadows series!

After the action-packed events of the third book, another threat looms on the horizon and Thalia is tasked to infiltrate the human kingdom under the disguise of competing for the king's hand in marriage. How far is she willing to go to save the ones she loves and could it mean alienating the one her heart yearns for?

I was really looking forward to Thalia's and Sorin's book, their sizzling chemistry was so obvious even as side characters during Adara's and Evren's story. To my surprise, this was a much shorter book than I expected it to be and ended up being more of a novella to tie up any loose ends after the events of AKOVAV.

I love how fiercely loyal Thalia is, she is such an exceptional and deep character that owns my whole heart. Paired with Sorin's boyish charm and charisma we get a little bit of slowburn until I was practically screaming at Thalia to just.let.go and then, phew, we really get into it.

I am not sure if the end was really needed, as the twist was kind of predictable, but since there seem to be no further books in this series it made sense to make sure all storylines found an end.

"Don't say things like that to me, Thalia. Unless you want me to tie you to this bed and never let you up."
