This book was just OK. I really didn’t like the dynamic between the FMC and MMC… The plot was a little weak, albeit understandable for the world but it just didn’t hit like the other books. I liked Thalia as a side character, not a main character. Also, all of the men in these books are being so demanding and saying “Who do you belong to?” How about none of you? I belong to myself. Neither option for a romantic partner really thrilled me in this book either.

(some? spoilers ahead) I’m not going to lie I was lowkey hoping that the human king would turn out to be amazing and they’d end up together. Then in the next book they’d join the kingdoms, team up against Evren’s dad and make the whole world like the Blood Kingdom where everyone is treated fairly and life is wonderful. But no, instead he had to be just another jerk. I honestly can’t remember which king died in the end but one is still alive so… I feel book 5 coming in hottttt!

I have been looking forward to Thalia’s story and I was not disappointed. While she doesn’t grip my soul as much as Adara did, she still has such an intensity about her. Add Sorin which I was beyond intrigued with. The story between these two is explosive and there are so many raw emotions that bleed through the pages and fierceness. It is one intense ride from start to finish that will have you gripping your ereader. I love that Renee is continuing on this world because she delivers a unique storyline with so many twisty moments and all the intrigue.

Felt a little rushed, but I still loved Thalia and Sorin.
