I was really enjoying it until the end, the end ruined the whole series for me. Real rating is 2.5 but rounded it up to 3

I really love the cover of this one. My favourite one of the trilogy.
The story had a good ending, nothing really bad happened.

3,5 stars.
Out of all 3 books in the series, this book was the worst for me - there were just a few things I didn't like in this:
1) Bethany suddenly wanting to have sex with Xavier. Yes, as an angel she's broken quite a lot of "rules" already, but this was just too much for me. I cringed and found it a bit unnecessary.
2) Wade. This isn't really a reason why I gave it 3,5 stars, I just didn't like him. At all.
3) Bethany. I, for some reason, disliked her a lot in this. She just felt really pathetic to me here.
4) When she cut off her wings to be with Xavier.. This entire part was stupid to me, cause why? I understand she loves him- a lot - but it just felt wrong and stupid.

I did, however, enjoy some parts of the book.

Im actually so surprised I rating this book so high, but honestly the ending kinda got me. I am low-key going to miss this series I've learned to love. To start, Bethany... she's an ignorant, angel with no common sense. Within the beginning of the story it definitely drags as you wait to discover why the angles are coming after Bethany and Xavier until the truth unfolds which is mindblowing. However, there were many moments when I had thought this book was definitely not the best book in the series. First, throughout the series Gabriel is known as the strong archangel that fights for his family however in this book they made him seem weak and allowed him to give up everything so easily. Second, I didn't really understand why they had to "hide" in a college when they really could have just hid anywhere with a high mass population. Finally I felt as if the "relationship" between Xavier and Bethany seemed very cringey during intimate moments. Overall, this is an amazing series and if you do end up reading it definitely try to stick through to the end. I promise it does get better. I definitely do recommend this to anyone interested in angels and young adult fiction.

bethany's behaviour in this book reminds me of a three year old.

Pg. 62- I have no pity for Bethany, she's an idiot and I hope they catch her
Pg. 73- This is suddenly turned into Boundless by Cynthia Hand. Ugh.
Pg. 124- I'm calling it now, he's the bad guy

Ok, I just can't contain it anymore. The plot hole bunnies are abound and it is driving me mad.

Like, did you take the rule book and throw it out the window?
Basically the point of the book was it's better to be a selfish, self absorbed human so you can have sex than to strive for the best version of yourself. DISAGREE STRONGLY.
Yeah it's fiction and just a love story but damn couldn't you have gone about it better?

And then there's the huge Dues ex Machina immaculate bullshit conception nonsense. NO. JUST NO. Again, I swear Adornetto had a pow wow with Cynthia Hand to have these shenanigans happen.

Another huge thing that bugged me is this- Bethany observed humanity so some things I feel she should have known but magically didn't. So then going from that point, some of the sayings and metaphors she used didn't mesh. ALL I ASK FOR IS CONSISTENCY.

And the ending? Like, really? I don't even have a coherent thought for it.

Now to my rage against the characters.
Bethany is a twat and I have no pity for her. Sure, true love doesn't care about your flaws but I certainly do.
Xavier is an idiot blinded by love but at least he's tolerable. I mean he basically voices half of my inner monologue while reading this.
Example: "I mean, Molly... seriously?"
Amen, Xavier. My thoughts exactly.

And don't even get me started on Gabriel, complete character change and not in a good or believable way. AT ALL. And it's not just because of his "accident". I mean, I never even liked him but this was just awful.
Which leads nicely to Molly. I hate her. I've always hated her. She's dumber than Beth, which is saying A LOT. And she's even more of a pain in the ass.

A full five star book for me. It had it all: rebelion, runaway+newly wed teenagers, and an angel that came to earth.... Or as Beth would say it "to hell and back again."

I enjoyed Heaven the most out of the trilogy, but I still believe it was average at best. Again I felt that there was a lot of unnecessary scenes and information eg. the whole Molly/Wade plotline. I didn't feel satisfied with the ending; after all that they had been through, I thought that it would be emotionally happier to be honest. It just feels like their love should have been further explored and the end left me wanting more, but not in a good way; it just felt unfinished.

so good but kinda predictable ending

Short review: This could've been an epic finale if it had had a more likeable and reasonable Bethany, more elaboration on what was happening with the other characters, and if there had been one major event in which Bethany, Xavier and possibly Ivy and Gabriel had participated. If you have read the first two books then I think 'Why not finish the thing?' If you have not, then... well, it really isn't a big deal. You aren't missing on anything.

Long one:
Spoiler

I've read many reviews of this books and while this one has gifs, I'll try to be as repectful as possible for the sake of the author, because, yeah, I feel bad for her.

1) First off, It's cool they are teenagers and want to get married. No issue there. It happens in many books. It has consequences: Perfect. But Bethany's reaction, after two books of "character development", should've been different.

2) The relationship: Bethany thinks Molly's thing with Wade isn't healthy. Well, hers isn't exactly better. There's a very thin line between 'I would sacrifice so much for him because I love him and will do everything I can for us to be together' and 'I can't live without him, I need him to breathe, If I'm not with him I want to die.' See? I found Bethany's sacrifice something amazing but Xavier doesn't really react accordingly. I get it he must be beyond happy, but hey! Shouldn't that be some major drama detonator?

3) Gabriel loses his wings in order to help Xavier. He apparently becomes invisible after that because the moment Raphael steps in, nobody looks at him or goes to help him after having his wings ripped. No, of course not.

4) I liked the idea of the septimus being bad, but it was lacking something to make it brilliant.

5) Bethany doesn't care about protection

6) At one point Ivy disappears and Bethany is worried. Two years later she's in some mission with Gabriel. It's never explained where the hell she was. --I was left curious--

7) I don't find the MC as someone I like to read about because she isn't interesting. Xavier was okay but at times he really has to start thinking for himself.
