Murder Theory does not disappoint. Theo Cray is running his own lab now but no matter how hard he tries he gets pulled into other cases. This time, the "killer" is a.mysterious ailment that is causing seemingly normal people to snap then kill people. Theo, a nerdy scientist with a bit of an attitude and a brilliant mind, begins investigating. Of course, no one wants to believe that this could be a bio weapon. But can Theo change their minds before it's too late?!

I should not like Theo. He's kind of a jerk. He's oblivious that he could hurt those who love him with his actions. He's snarky. Sigh. But I just love him.

Also, I'm not a huge "science" person --- so listening/reading this series could have scared me. It does not. I'm very much interested in all the science jargon, data, and information that's presented. Love it!!!

Not amazing. But good and strong. This series focuses heavily on our main a whole lot and I am actually getting increasingly curious about all of our side characters.

Onto the fourth book... And after that, maybe I'll step back into my usual fantasy and scifi.

I love this series overall, but this book wasn't as strong as the first two. I really like the characters and humor that Mayne infuses into these stories, and I appreciate that he always ties up loose ends in a really clever and witty way. I'm looking forward to reading the final book!

For someone who keeps reminding us of how intelligent and superior he is, Theo Cray really does some dumb shit. I did enjoy this book (3rd in the series) and the second one too, especially because they're science-y, but I didn't *love* them as much as the first one. Even though I had an ARC, I listened/read this on Kindle Unlimited. I really appreciate when authors put the audio up on KU. Now, I'm off to the 4th book in the series, Dark Pattern.

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for a copy of the ARC.

Does this guy ever have to deal with the consequences of his actions? He’s 10000% a white guy

Still solid, but just not as good as the first two.... maybe if I hadn't had my expectations set so high by #1 and #2, I might have stretched to a 5 star here. Very much worth the read.

Amazing. I love biology, so all the research that was clearly put into this book was endlessly fascinating to me. The story is imaginative, intriguing and suspenseful and I love Theo as the protagonist (I have a bit of a nerd crush on him). Even the cliffhanger was good, which is something you'd never hear me say because usually I dislike the very concept of cliffhangers. Can't wait for the next book.
