Rating a play always seems a bit unfair. Methinks that if I had seen it a few decades before in the Globe I would have given it five stars. ;)

The Tempest
4/5
I think it's NOT bad at all. In fact, I loved it!
I love the themes of power struggle, colonialism and magic all in one melting part AND ALSO THE MARRIAGE PART!
But at one point, it's kind of sad too. Prospero was able to meet his objectives (sorta to be back into Naples)... but Caliban continuously to be the one oppressed from the island and the one lesser in power.
I thought the beasts were quite Disney too, with Ariel spying on all these CONSPIRACIES TO KILL PROSPERO.

I am so grateful that today the western world is much more multicultural than it is. BUT still there is a lot of exclusions. WHEN HAVE U SEEN AN ASIAN PRESIDENT IN AMERICA OR AUSTRALIA??
