What a delightful play! Shakespeare's fun writing style meets a wacky fantasy adventure. It's not the most meaningful work, but it's a highly enjoyable read.

This was an excellent production of "The Tempest." How could Audible go wrong with Sir Ian McKellen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Emilia Fox, et al?

It had been so long since I last read it, in fact if I ever had, that I had a bit of trouble piecing out which character was speaking. That was no fault of the actors, but my own ignorance, so I turned around and followed the Audible production by reading the play.

I admired Prospero for his cunning in getting back what was rightfully his as the Duke of Milan and for his restraint regarding just how far he was willing to go for retribution. Shakespeare's writing, of course, is Shakespeare. Poetry, wisdom, wit, human frailties all are present.

“We are such stuff as dreams are made on, and our little life is rounded with a sleep.”

I read this for my British Literary Traditions course and honestly enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. Much shorter than most Shakespeare, but that doesn’t make it any less valuable!

story is simple and easy to follow. similarity of some characters' names is sometimes confusing. overall a fun and entertaining book.

The only English teacher ever to dislike Shakespeare. There was no real plot to this. No one died, no one got married, no war, nothing. It has a happy ending, no twists, blah. It's not even funny.
mysterious

An eccentric magical story that explores the conflict between revenge and forgiveness.
Despite its imaginative style and thematic ambition, the play did not resonate with me on an emotional level.

i don’t even know what i read. in a bad way.
