Fun, addictive read but points off for quick POV changes and a lot of characters that got me confused at times.
I liked it better than "The Cousins," but I don't think I will read the sequel.

This book is great if you want to immerse yourself in slut shaming, misogyny, harmful representation of mental illness and suicide, and the unfortunate use of a character’s sexuality as a plot twist!
Everyone with depression is EVIL in this book and there’s not really much discussion about mental health in general even though there absolutely should be, considering the “twist” at the end is that Simon commits suicide and tries to frame everyone for it. Absolutely ridiculous.
This book was BORING AS HELL!!!!! Another issue I have that’s solely based off of the writing and the plot structure is that all the character POVs switching back and forth is so annoying. It’s a stand-alone and you are switching between four people so you don’t really get much with every character, causing their development and arcs to all seem rushed. I didn’t like any of the characters very much or connect with any of the characters. I also didn’t care for the romance at all, it was clearly just thrown in to satisfy the romance requirement for a YA book. The only other Karen McManus book I’ve read is The Cousins, which I read a month ago, and it was okay (I gave it three stars) but now I’m like damn that book was 1000 times better than this one. At least that one had some entertainment factor.

The romances between Cooper and Kris and between Bronwyn and Nate were cute but other than that this book was offensive and unreadable
