Love the way this author writes, but this story needed more. More horro, deeper dive into the creepy depths and spooky stuff happening on the ship, and Leah could have been more of a horror at home. Felt like it was dragging at some point.

This is a slow build for a slow ending type of book. I do think there are so many questions unanswered but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I think sometimes you don’t need to know everything you just need to know it’s the end. Dragged in some parts but the overall story the overall picture it painted was beautiful in a way the grief and loss sometimes can be.

listened to this on hoopla and the narrators were incredible.

i’ll be thinking of this book for some time. the depth of their relationship reminded me, quite fondly, of this is how you lose the time war. the prose is languid yet powerful, akin to the sea. a beautiful and heartbreaking exploration of love and the hollowness left when it’s lost.
